Back to the topic. I still seek answers too. My ex of since 2012 still believes we have a "marriage future" together (I really wonder why I don't believe so, 'cause I can't even be friends with him anymore). He stalks my every step (even on NL) and obtains my progress report from only God knows where.

He has even gone spirtitual about the whole issue (fear not, I've dealt with that, trust me ) and in September he still related this awkward notion to my closest friend and I was like kilode? Can't he move on?

Well, the reason I deduce is that he still believes he knows me so well, but it's really otherwise. 'Cause if he really knows me, he'd know when I get over things I really do, and I never look back when I move on with life.

what causes the breakup?seems he is still very much inlove with you...but the guy try o,almost 3yrs and he still cant move on?

It's quite simple,

If ur ex was the one that broke up with u, it's normal for him to think that he can get back.
In his mind, he might be thinking u still have feelings for him.
But if u are the one that broke up with him, that means u don't want him anymore, he might try and beg u but deep down his mind he knows the feelings is gone.
