PCOS shouldn't be an indication to hysterectomy.There is a drug called Clomiphene that is the drug of choice for Stein-Levental syndrome(PCOS).
It should be used for 5 days(50 to 100 mg) each month for 6 months and when you are not responding to it.then you need to undergo a surgery called Laparascopic multiple punctures of the ovaries with monopolar cautery or laser.Trust me,you will be fine.I think you should see a Gynaecologist because the dosage of the drug might be different,

Pcos is a very common condition among young women. It is a condition that can be managed so you don't need to worry so much.

The management depends on what you want and there is no treatment. Since your problem now is mainly your ammenorrhea, cycle control with either combined contraceptive pills or progesterone will solve the problem. If you decide to get pregnant, ovulation induction with clomid or other drugs will help you.

Removing your womb is not a treatment option for you. It seems your doctor has little knowledge on this or you didn't understand exactly what he said. See a gynecologist for more clarification.

hv pcos too.this is my four years of this chronic aliment.diagonized of dat at age 21 nw am 24 married two yrs ago without a child. did hormal assay with result lh_5.9, fsh_6.7, oestrogen_25.2,progesterone_0.0,prolactin_30.3, testeron_0.3n.i took dostinex fr high prolactinemia nd it did wonderfully well bt i stopped cs of it is too expensive.my doc induced me with letrozole on cd 3to7. on cycle day 13 i ran an ultrasound nd found 22mm follicle bt dint hv an lh surge.pls whr cn i buy or get pregnyl10000 to hlp trigger my lh. i hv really suffered concernedds pcos. hv spent sooooo much.

Polycystic ovarian syndrome(PCOS),is never an indication for hysterectomy(removal of the uterus),it jst means your ovaries contain several masses containing fluids
The best solution to it is laparoscopic sugery in which the fluids will be drain.
The fluid in the mass usually contain testosterone dtz d reason u hv beard nd oda masculine stuffs,it also affects your menses,after drainage evryfn will com bk to normal

doctors in the house pls help me my menses has been irregular since last year bt now it has stopped for 2months and i went for an ultra sound scan which i was told that i have pcos i was directed to a hospital but on getting there and talking to the dr abt my symptoms like pcos, amenorrhea, acne and beard e.t.c the only thing he told me that can solve all my problems is to remove my womb which i objected to. since am still 21 and never get married or gaven birth b4.
Here is my ultra sound report below:
PELVIC SCAN/ TVS
UTERUS: Normal size anteverted uterus. Myometrial echo texture is smooth and homogenous. No fibroid nodule observed. Endometrial cavity is empty and intact. Cervical oS is intact.
OVARIES; Bilateral multiple small concentric peripheral follicles with increased central stroma echogenecity.
ADNEXA: Bilaterally free/normal
No cul de sac fluid collection
other upper abdominal organs are normal sonographically.
IMPRESSION/CONCLUSSION
>POLYCYSTIC OVARIAN SYNDROME
>HORMONAL PROFILE, ADVISED.
Pls my brothers & sisters in the house what drugs will i take to minimise my symptoms especially the amenorrhea and chest&face acne because non of them is responding to my new nutriction and moreover am just 21 to be suffering frm this kind of disease that have no cure, and i will like to be a mother one day.

Pn of the problem of a screening exercise, I mean this US you just had is over diagnosis, My advice will be that you just calm down and ignore it for a while even your symptoms. Your body changes and before you know let's say in the next 6 months have a re-scan and font be surprised, your ovaries might be cooperating again.
