The minute you indicate interest in helping our police investigate, you're picked up as a suspect. I remember when a certain Damonche guy was shot dead in front of his school and some guys went to the police to report a phone found close to the scene. They were immediately arrested but released later. who in their right mind will want to help the NPF even if the evidence is right under their noses?

In any case this isn't normal. Funny thing is immediately the Nigerian police arrive they would just start arresting everybody in d vicinity including innocent passers-by. That is probably why no one has thought to call them.
