But why should you let anyone lie to you?, lying to you imply two things, either a prove of some form of dominance over you and the person gulping the fibs is just too dumb to see the light no matter how bright it shines. The latter is true in most of the cases because day by day the gadgets are getting more flexible and smarter but most of its users are not. This is about the lies that has traversed generations and still going strong, it is that time of the year again, the season of the MERRY LIES (CHRISTMAS).

Let me break it to you, Christmas was alien to the Christian world till around 354 CE (same as 354 AD). ‪#‎Jesus‬, the disciples, early christians (of over 350 years) all have no idea of what you are feasting about today. Why would they? The date and time of the birth of Jesus as you think it (25th Dec, 1 CE) was not documented in the bible or in any valid historical scroll of that time, even the earliest of the 4 Gospels (Book of Mark) that was written about 65 CE started its account with the Baptism of jesus and the gregorian calendar you all use was not invented until 1582 CE.

The time of Jesus's birth was put at when Herod was the king of Judea (Luke 1;5) or in the era of Emperor Augustus (Luke 2:1). The event then was that of the shepherds watching their flocks at night, in the same part of the country where jesus was born (Luke 2:. If Jesus was born in December in Temperate Nazareth, then these shepherds are either foolish (as no sane man will tend his sheep in a cold wintery december night) or these people are not shepherds as the bible have reported.

You can't blame me for bringing a little logic into this, even Christian theologians themselves have made calculations on when jesus was born based on the historical facts and the little or no clue from the bible but NONE of them arrived at Dec 25th, they have all gotten ridiculously different dates ranging from 6th of Jan (Epiphany of Eastern Orthodox Christians which they hold as their own Christmas), to varying dates between March and November.

But why Dec 25th? This date is credited to the Roman pagans who introduced the holiday of the festival of saturn (Saturnalia), a week long period (Dec 17th - 25th) of lawlessness, during which the Roman courts were closed, widespread consumption of intoxicants, going from house to house singing naked (a pre-cursor to modern day caroling), rape and other sexual licenses and consumption of human shaped biscuits (still produced in some English and German bakeries during the Christmas seasons) were the norm of saturnalia.

Where did it all go wrong? In the 4th century, christian leaders succeded in converting to christianity large numbers of pagans by promising them that they could continue to celebrate Saturnalia as Christians, but as there was nothing intrinsically christian (then) about Saturnalia, these shallow thinking christian leaders named Saturnalia's concluding day (Dec 25th) to be jesus's birthday. More like because they cant beat them (pagans), although a lot of these practices have been modified and feasting method varies with localty, but how do you build castles of gold on cotton wool?

Popular christmas customs; The christmas tree (Worshippers of the Asheira cults recruited by christians and signed the same pact as the roman pagans), The Mistletoe (from the pagan god Balder who was killed by another god Hoder while fighting over a female Nanna, also credited to the Dridic sacrifical cult groups), Santa Claus and the presents (Turkish monk called Nicholas who was raised to the status of a saint and idolized by the pagan group called the Nicholas cult) all have pagan undertones.

But each time you eat that fine rice and poor chicken (in the name of Christmas) ask yourself how will your so called "lord and savior" feel or maybe you need to re-check 1st John 5:21, Jonah 2:8, 1st Cor 10:14, Jer 7:18, Rev 2:14 and 1st Cor 12;2 to mention a few.
