Hello Whitemosquito,
I would rather you confirm receipt of entries, perhaps by replying the sender through email or other channels so one knows his/her entry was successfully submitted.

Madam whitemosquito, the instructions states that it should be written in English or pidgin, I want to know if it's okay to make use of some vernacular for more authenticity

@theorbiters, I'm sorry you cannot retract your first submission, if you had submitted on nl, you would have the option of editing your post. Since you submitted through the mail, that is not possible. Only one entry per participant.

Choi, this is what I call 'gobe'. Chai. It was my fault anyway, I did not add the new year and it excitement part.
Oh well, if you say it is not possible, then I guess that is it. Thanks for your leniency. You are the boss.

Si. Make sure you get the vernacular right though. For instance, don't spell 'dey' as 'they'....

Happy New Year Everyone smiley, whew, a lot has happened huh? my shift keys are giving me wahala so am going tobe typing without the necessary capitalizations, pls bear with me.

ok i have signed in. how is the competition getting along?
another thing is that when i am awake most people are sleeping. it can get a bit lonely sad
Ehen. so we have a short story competition with N10,000 up for grabs. choi. and i no fit enter angry

each story is supposed to be composed of 400words MAXIMUM, more than enough for a flash fiction, some would even say it is too much.
your story should capture the essence of what you want to say in a few words. the main theme here is a cultural story of the new year. Pretty straightforward. for e.g

lake chad was thrilled seeing the fishing sticks return from the great river. he knew there would be lots of fish for everyone knew the first day of the new year brought the river goddess who summoned fish for the men of the village to carry as many as they wanted but only for that day only. this year the sticks were overloaded. hassan grinned. it was going to be a great year.

walla! done! and in less than 400words. see free money. and i no fit join. choi cry cry cry
so let us see your entries and in a few days you could be the proud winnner of the first , second or third prize!

Caveat;
if you copy this story you wont win oh.
if your write up is short like my own and you expect to win, hahahahaha, u no well at all!
if you build on this story na wa for you oh, e no go work.

this competition is for all you budding writers out there to have fun and let your imagination run wild! its not an exam angry
so write, have fun, explore your mind and concieve something so refreshing that we will have no choice but to bless you with some cool mullah!
looking forward to seeing your entries. Over and out!
