New Year Letter To The President Of Federal Republic Of Nigeria by yal7: 10:09pm On Jan 01, 2015
LETTER TO THE PRESIDENT OF FEDERAL
REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA
Indeed it is a popular saying that uneasy lies
the head that wears the crown, this means that
the task of leadership is not an easy one at all
neither has it ever been easy, and permit me to
say that no one holding a position or handling
responsibilities will ever tell you it is easy, on
this very note i say kudos to president
Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, for being able to
manage the affairs of Nigerian’s who i tagged
the present day Israelites affairs for the period
of 6years.
Mr president sir, without any doubt your
administration has brought numerous good
things to this very nation, ranging from your
effort in the health sector, to the election
process, the judiciary system, sports just to
mention of few, indeed one must give kudos to
you considering your youthfulness as the case
may be now, but sir permit me to say that
perfectness is never in man but in God but
hence, we human can still attain some levels or
degree of perfectness as we hope to be like
Christ which we both profess to be our lord. On
this very basis i must say that the through test
of a leader has never be in times of merry and
joy but in times of challenges and adversaries,
which has propel me to write this letter to you
and make it public to the good and bad people
of our fathers land about your great deed and
also take a critical look at some in humanistic
action done either by yourself or some irrational
and non-human members of your cabinet under
the hospices of your administration. At this very
junction sir, you might not which to proceed to
read my letter, but it is important to bring to
your consciousness that a true leader is one
that listen’s to the followers and as such some
of my critical objections here will be of benefit
to you and the nation as a whole.
My powerful president sir, it is with all due
respect that i say that, although your
administration has been filled with numerous
success stories and the only response given to
your critics should be “do you think it is easy
why not try be the president of Nigeria” but sir,
no one ever said the office you are going was
an easy one while contesting, perhaps we have
someone who told you it was easy, then such
person should be labelled your greatest enemy,
so whatever excuses you tend to give for your
flaws in some important aspect of the nation
remains untenable on the basis of no excuse for
failure, as well as the same excuses you will
give as reason for your failure is someone else
reason for success.
Firstly, it is visible to the blind that the south-
west of Nigeria as benefited little or nothing
from your administration, since you assume
office and the south-western people also have
the least number of appointee’s in your
administration, perhaps, it’s possible you try to
lay hold on the dualization of the Ilesha to
Akure road, but if i will not be deceiving you, as
at the time am writing to you, the dualization of
that road is merely a dream, all the contractors
did was to repair the road and not that it is
been dualised, so it’s either you put to check
the contractors and the ministry in charge of
this task or it suffixes to say that you are
involved in all this and that you only use the
pronouncement of dualization as a campaign
strategy, so to avoid further staining of your
name i advice you make clarifications to the
good people of Nigeria.
Secondly, as at the day this letter was been
written, research and findings have shown that
some members in the federal ministry of works,
national identity card have not been paid their
salary for the past two months, that’s
November and December salary, not only that,
some members also in federal ministry of
education, federal inspectorate services majorly,
have not received salary for 3months that’s
between October to December, to me this is
lack of human feelings, three months is
equivalent in my term to a term in the basic
school and almost a semester in tertiary
institution, how then do you expect this workers
to feed themselves and family, how do you
expect them to foot their bills, sir if indeed you
have walked with your legs before, then i
believe you should have better understanding
about what it means to live in lack even if some
of your ministers, and permanent secretary has
decide to behave as if they are not human, by
not showing concerns and feelings for their
worker’s, it so poor that none of them could
release at least a message of sorry and apology
for such act and explain things to the workers
via the media, this show that they are nothing
but sets of corrupt people and “animals”
without any apology, because i believe human’s
should have feelings. Not with standing sir, i
will like to seek your opinion if it is right for
such workers to continue to be patriotic to the
nation and go to work? Because on which
account will they write the money of their
transportation, knowing full well they have not
been paid for months, does morality demand
they suffer for people who care less about
them? Sir i hereby implore that you stop the
salary and allowance of any minister, director or
permanent secretary who’s workers have not
been paid and let them feel some pain as well,
one must quickly say that you also should stop
your allowances until your workers are been
paid, so as to lead by example and show
Nigerians that you have not turn them to
labourers who will be the means of feeding
yourself and the set of termite senators who
claim to serve hungry people when they are
swimming in plenty but lack dignity and
integrity.
More so, i was so happy to know that we now
have sets of corrupt union leader who has no
integrity again, starting from the grass root
which is the student union to the very apex of
unionism, permit me to bring your notification
to the aspect of national association of Nigerian
students (NANS), how will the president of
NANS be a university graduate, we can’t but
ask if someone who is out of the institution
could be able to represent Nigeria student and
know what their facing or just representing his
pocket, yes, am quit aware of the claims that
NANS does not means undergraduate alone, but
it is important to call a spade a spade and not
an agricultural tool, we all know that the most
active and probably the only active student
union are does in the undergraduate level, so it
will be ridiculous if someone will stand to justify
his selfish ambition on that basis. Also, i must
commend the effort of the Trade Union
Congress (TUC) but of recent i have started
losing my trust in them, because how can you
have ministries not one nor two under your
hospices that some of their workers have not
been paid for over two months without any
reason and you have not put to lock all the
offices and debar the ministers from even
assessing their offices, neither has there been
any concrete sign of concern from your national
executive, i know you are on top of the situation
but can you all ask yourself if government have
been paying those people for over 2months and
they are not going to work which is leading to
decline in the economy status of the country,
what will government have done to such
people? We all know the answer, so you have
no excuse and if you continue like this one day
our people will lose faith in unionism when they
have been pushed to the wall and they will
bounce on you first and then the government
and that is what Karl Marx calls the
“dictatorship of the proletariat”.
Furthermore, it’s wonderful to have a vibrant
woman with great credentials as the
coordinating minister for finance and economy
in this nation in person of Mrs. Ngozi Iweala,
who has helped us a lot to improve our
economy in paper and in Abuja alone leaving
majority of Nigeria to suffer from the paper
work she presented to the international
community, it is audible to the deaf, visible to
the blind and laudable for the dumb that the
Nigeria economy is crashing daily and Nigerians
are seriously suffering, i will like to implore her
professionalism that you don’t increase
employment rate by creating government
agencies, why not create a lot of manufacturing
companies and industries, with that you will
employ lots of workers and at the same time
generate a lot of income from the product
coming out of the companies and industries
which will really boost the country’s economy,
ma, am not saying this is the best option but it
is preferable to all your best prescription’s and
recommendation’s in Nigeria.
Moreover, my president sir, i can’t but ask that
when will African’s, most especially Nigerian’s
stop this act of insanity and madness, the
money donated for you election is enough to
pay the salaries of the worker’s you are owing,
then i tend to ask if money should be the
credentials for proving your worth and credibility
to people, if indeed you are credible i don’t
think you need up to 1million for your
campaign, because you have spend over 6years
in office and your achievements should be your
voice not money, i can’t but ask if it is the
number’s of postal’s and hand bill that you
want to produce for your election that will cost
over a billion or the media publicity, if billions
are spent for you to win the election and your
people are suffering, then i think it’s rather
irrational of you, sir you have been battling with
the Boko Haram crises for years without any
significant success, why can’t your rich donors
raise money for more security in the nation than
for your election, it necessarily follows you
hardly have your people in mind. Also why on
earth should we waste money again to produce
new 100naira notes which is not even
fascinating to the eye, i can’t but ask the
relevant of a new currency note when the value
of naira is dropping on daily basis at the
international scene, perhaps you may mention
that it’s because of the centenary celebration,
but why are we celebrating 100years of
crawling as a nation, why should a man
celebrates his farm harvest when his children
are dying, who will eat the harvest?
At this junction, one must quickly say that
Nigerians are suffering and you are languishing
in the oceans of plenty neglecting the masses, if
it is true that Nigeria’s classify you to be a
youth, then it is imminent to say that you have
failed the youths, no wonder people are now
turning to a man who i believe should be
resting as there hope, your uncaring attitude
has made people to start returning back to the
old and aged people, then we can’t but ask,
what is the future of the Nigerian youth and
when will the youths of today become the
leaders of tomorrow, if Gen. Buhari who is
above 70 could still be contesting for presidency
and some people are now seeing future in the
old. I think i have to pause and weep for my
father’s land.
Lastly, i will want you to have the spirit of
patriotism, you might not be able to satisfy
everybody, but let people know that you are
really trying your best, always know that wealth
and properties are left on earth. i can’t really
say if you are a good leader or a bad leader
because, you have not prove yourself to be
good leader and at the same time you are
surrounded by bad associate, and no matter
how good a leader is, if he is surrounded by
bad adviser’s such leader is bad. permit me at
this junction to say that this is not a perfect
letter, but i write out of my love for Nigeria to
give you some useful advice and perhaps, if any
error is found while reading maybe in terms of
grammar or construction, it’s only a sign that
am writing in an alien language, so i say am
sorry, i must say i have consciously written this
letter to avoid fallacy of hasty generalization
and i pray it has a positive effects on you, so
that you will be call a leader and not a ruler as
the whites do call African leader’s “RULERS”
because they have deaf ear to instructions.
Mr President i love you and i love federal
republic of Nigeria.
GOD BLESS GOODLUCK JONATHAN
GOD BLESS FEDRAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA
