actually its cheaper travelling to Croatia from France than going to Nigeria and returning back. How? by train; You could get a direct train, from Zurich Switzerland to Zagreb Croatia- (of course Switzerland borders France, so one could use a bus to Zurich from France)
For the train, There are cheap fares from just €39 with
couchette, €69 with bed in a 2-bed sleeper, if you pre-book.
So its not expensive at all, to me, its even fun. asides the fun/adventure involved, the Visa is Maximally used, once one starts going in and out of EU border zones, the stay duration (days) is recapped upon return.

What kind of visa is required to go into Croatia?

If you have a valid Schengen Visa, you will be stamped in to Croatia.
But I have a question; is her visa multiple entry?

Yes, so just a stamp plus multiple entry schenghen visa is enough to get into Croatia?

For your information, a Valid Multiple entry Schengen Visa can get you into some non EU/ non schengen member countries like Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey, and Ukraine.
For instance Turkey issues a visa upon entry if a Valid Multiple entry Schengen Visa is on the travellers document, all you have to do is pay for it at the P.O.E.
So if you say she has a multiple entry Schengen visa, then entry into Croatia is not an issue as she is very eligible.

Thank you for this info. To be clearer for me, if she leaves the Schengen border, and returns the days in duration of stay will reset?

Technically, yes... but she needs to spend sometime out there, probablly like 2 or three days.

Good info, thanks.

Again, do u think the trip should be made before completing the 30 days duration or wait till the 30 days are complete?

First of all, na God do am! grin

Just before the duration of stay expired, she already got tickets to return like you advised and her company also recommended she returned. sad

Although, her company had intervened and trying all they could to fix the issue, it proved impossible and returning was certain. We kept praying tho... Remember there was no guarantee that if she returned to Nigeria, she would be allowed to reset the stay. So returning to naija was the last minute option. grin

Ok, about 12 hours before the return travel time, she called to inform me that her company instructed her to stay back! cool

Risk of a ban? Three days later the duration expired and she was waiting to get further instruction on what to do. shocked

As God would have it, she got an appointment with an immigration office in france and the following day got the extension stamped till three days more than the end of the seminar. grin

See dancing!

This was confirmed an impossible feat and we don't know yet what transpired yet but we thank God He intervened.

Hopefully, if we get more info that can be helpful to others, I will update. But for now, the most important information is that with God all things are possible.

grin #Godwin

I appreciate you all for your efforts, advice and ccontributions. I will definitely like to be of help too, however possible.

Ok i get that now, she needs get a letter from the organizers indicating that the conference has been postponed and a letter from her company authorizing her to stay back for the seminar, both letters will be sent to embassy for change of circumstances. She can do it or her company.

you were right about this.

There was much confusion at some point. In addition to the information we got here, we asked people around, some people said it's IMPOSSIBLE or extremely hard to extend. That is very true - which we confirmed.

Some people around also said it can reset if she returned to Nigeria (or exit he schegen boarder) for a few days, some said it won't reset. We can't confirm this, since we did not use this option, but I have a friend who recently left Germany for UK and back, I am trying to confirm if there was a reset. Hopefully, if I find any information, I will update as well.

In all of these, #God-win

Thank you friends.

I'm glad it worked out at least for now, there is always an exceptional circumstances in every rule, you can only get those by writing or calling the authorities. It's not always published because people will abuse it.
Good luck though

Hello everyone.
I really need your advice to sort myself out of some kind of trouble I put myself in.

I got a schegen visa for Germany, duration of stay was 7 days and 21days validity.
Since I am a JJC in international travels, during my visa application, I filled in the exact dates on my travel itinerary as my entrance and exit dates, hence the 7 days that was given.
I missed my return flight to Nigeria which was scheduled for the 7th day and rebooked for the following morning as there was no other flight for that day.
Missing my flight got me completely flustered and I didn't even remember that my visa was to expire that same day, so I didn't report myself to the immigration check, I just left the airport and came back the next morning for my flight.
To my greatest shock, at the passport control point they took me to the police office and told me I've committed a serious offence in Germany by exceeding my visa stay. They gave me a form to fill, asked me why I overstayed and what I do for a living. I explained that I missed my flight cos I didnt have enough time to pass through the security check and meet my flight.
They made me fill one form like that. And advised me to get to the airport at least 3 hrs ahead of my flight next time.
I was really scared and asked them if they were going to let me return to my country same day or they want to jail me and if the form they asked me to fill means I should indicate I am a criminal in their country in my next visa application They said no, that I shouldn't worry, as this was a minor offense, that during my next application, I should clearly state and explain the circumstances that led to my overstay and I will get my visa.
Okay, they did not stamp anything unusual on my passport, but I am still worried cos I need to travel early next year and I'm not sure what the penalty would be for my offence.
Someone advised me to write a letter to the German Consulate in Nigeria and explain what happened so that by the time I get there for my next visa interview, they'll already have my explanation on their file.

What do you guys advise? Should I send the letter? Should it be an apology letter or just an explanatory letter as I have been advised?

Please @justwise and other experienced people, I'd appreciate a response from you.

Thanks
