Then what makes u think the person is lying? No need 2 be in doubt. Just believe everything you hear until there's a reason/evidence not to. That way u wouldn't waste precious time thinking about irrelevant things.

@post
like all poker players,i think everyone has their own peculiar tell tale signs,some will twitch,but the universal signs from what i have read and experienced are slightly lowering the eyes,averting their eyes and not lookinginto your eyes directly,stammering and shifting from one feet to the other e.t.c

Just looking directly at the person's forehead will give him or her. However never attempt to look at the person in d eyes!

Body language. Pay close attention to their eyes. See i8f they fidget a lot, or eyes lower, or the slightest feeling of uncomfort.

When lying, people are more likely to offer shorter responses, fidget, make speech errors (more uhm's, err's, and ah's), and blink more. Research also proves that when lying people DO NOT break eye contact. Liars and truth tellers are both likely to "look you in the eye".

- Aggression and anger:
While discussing about a person or while questioning about a particular situation if your spouse gets unnecessarily beleaguered then things are not right. Your partner may give vague answers and long explanations which should be noted. There would be unwanted aggression which shows that the person is trying to hide something from you.

- Physical and emotional distancing:
You will suddenly find your better half not being very physical with you. There would be instances where your partner would not like to talk about and would distance himself/herself

@Letdemsay
I was thinking its the other way round they always can not keep eye contact. Is that not why we say look me in the eye and tell me you love me. You can know a liar because you have know how you behave when you lie. Same thing with the other folk when he lies particularly when emotion is involved. Emotions like love or friendship. If no emotion is involved, it can be hard to tell.

I disagree with the part I highlighted. I believe as gozillza said, it will b e pretty difficult - not impossible though -  for one to lie to his/her partner while maintaining unfaltering eye contact. Whlie it should be noted that professional liars (I no say lawyers o! ) will have no problem doing that ie keeping eye contact, it will nonetheless become more difficult the more emotionally attached one is to the person being lied to (in this case spouse).

LETDEMSAY:

Liars and truth tellers are both likely to "look you in the eye".

It should also be noted that if the partner happens to be uncomfortable while saying the truth, he/she is unlikely to maintain eye contact.

I dont think all these eye contact, body movement e.t.c will hold when you are accused of something you did not do. For instance, if someone accused me of something i didnt do, it is only God that vindicate me cos my reactions (like shivering, stammering) at that time will tends to convince the person more that truly i did it. I mostly find it difficult to defend myself when i am wrongly accused. But if i dey lie, you hardly believe i dey lie.I am good in lying anyway- i mean necessary lie
