While a few of us do believe in the candidacy and ability of Okotie to lead our nation to enviable heights, I must confess that support from a person like IBB came as a surprise to me.

What do you think of this open admiration for Okotie? I am not sure I've ever heard IBB speak so highly of someone, he seems to always be pre-occupied with himself. The points he raised are quite legitimate as far as I am concerned, but what might be his intentions? Can I get some contributions out there.

IBB is trying hard to divert attention from his nemesis.
Re: Ibb On Okotie by vichel(m): 10:25pm On Aug 29, 2006
Ibb is a sore looser, he thinks he's useless tricks can work on nigerians again, well he better have a reality check, because there ain't no way he's going back to aso rock.

He's trying to divert attention. . .
Re: Ibb On Okotie by TayoD(m): 2:35am On Aug 30, 2006
Could he be trying to woo Okotie to run as his vice?  I wouldn't be surprised if that is his plan.  However, I think he is in for a rude shock as Okotie has proved over and over that he is not interested in any post less than the Presidency.  Call him an uncompromising man on a mission.

I hate to tell you guys that there are many many many Nigerians that see things differently. They are more than ready to vote for this man, IBB as the next Nigerian president, This is one of the reasons why OBJ and his folks are paranoid.
It doesn't matter if IBB is supporting anybody, it is never a bad strategy when one leader admires the other. I still think that apart from the shady past of IBB (just like the rest), he is still the most promising candidate out there.

Something tells me that, he will be much more effective this time around. The reform process or goal will be attained much faster and Nigeria will become the Giant of Africa again.

Fact: IBB is determined to correct things and take Nigeria to the next level; he feels that he owes Nigerian people. He has special plan for this country. I'm confident that this time around IBB will be the best president in the entire Africa. He has what it takes and a true leadership qualities that others haven't exhibited.

The old folks say "I rather sleep next to a crazy man I already know instead of sleeping next to the one I hardly know"

All governors are corrupted, OBJ is corrupted, airport folks are corrupted, police men are corrupted, INS folks are corrupted, NEPA corrupted, Water Cooperation corrupted, professors are corrupted and I'm pretty sure that one or two of us in here have encouraged corruption  activity before in our lives; either by bribing a police officer or airport folks to push in overloaded luggage or to renew expired passport without standing on a long line, or what ever it may be, Nigeria is a corrupt land just like any other country,

My point: whether IBB becomes the next Nigerian president or not, corruption will continue to exist. Corruption has been around before IBB and will remain after IBB.

We can continue to make noise and point finger at IBB, the next man is on the line and can't wait to repeat the history.

It is simple and natural to see nothing but failure if we only focus on the negatives, It is time to look at things from a different angle and think broadly, There is no honest politician in Nigeria.

@Big B1,
he feels that he owes Nigerian people.

That is exactly what we are saying. Let him start by paying up what he owes in the form of the Gulf war oil windfall then we will feel he is truly genuine. Until then, it is just maradaona as usual.

i like what Big B1 says.
Re: Ibb On Okotie by funloving(m): 9:33pm On Aug 30, 2006
When people like Big B1 is around is any surprise that Nigeria is not going anywhere except down hill.

What has IBB to offer now that he did not have the time to offer then ?
What change has come upon him ?

I will rather sleep with a man I don't know than sleep with a craze man who will wake up at night and slit my throat with a knife.

IBB had his chance. He blew it and we are not giving him a second chance because we are not sure he has change.

You mention corruption has come to stay. When Nigierians think like this then we will never move forward.
There is no way a country can progress when corruption is institutionalised and everybody beleives there is nothing wrong with it.

@Big B1

Big B1 u a rat (sorry, jare i mean right). Everybody was corrupt b4 IBB became president, but he institutionalized, privatized, and legalized it instead of fighting it. He used our best brains, not to develop naija but to rubbish their reputation. What good does he have for Nigeria now that he cannot implement out of ASO ROCK. Big B1 go and tell him to start ploughing back some of our stolen money instead of planning to come and still more. NO WAYYYYYYYYYYYY.
Re: Ibb On Okotie by Odeku(m): 5:45pm On Aug 31, 2006
Big B1, is a baby he is only 16 so why waste time discussing this IBB issue with him he was in diaper when IBB was dribbling us aka maradona
Re: Ibb On Okotie by BigB11(m): 6:35pm On Sep 01, 2006
ODEKU: You are such a brain-washed dolt, it's incredible to know that people like you still exist in our society. Come on, lighten up already, it's 2006, Stop thinking like a bush uninformed grown man.

Could you point out one single Nigerian leader that didn't steal or take care of his folks?

I keep telling you that we have leaders (both ex and current) who are worst than IBB, As a matter of fact many of them are preparing to take people like yourself for another ride in 2007.
IBB is being used as a decoy to distract dolt like you, Very soon an OBJ clone will be planted in Aso rock for the next president. And what people don't understand is the fact that 3rd term is still alive. The implementation of 3rd term will be carried out indirectly by planting an OBJ clone, who will be controlled by OBJ.

The IBB drama is being overrated to put you guys to sleep while the OBJ implements his 3rd term plan indirectly.
Keep in mind that he tried to implement this plan directly and he failed, He's now using his plan B strategy and I think so far it's working, the narrow-minded are buying it.

You keep pointing finger at IBB as if he was the only and only Nigerian leader that has ever stolen, I've you ever thought about why EFCC is not pressing the other ex leaders as heavily as IBB is being pressed?

1.Buhari
2.Shagari
3.Gowon
4.OBJ (international Thief Thief)
5.Abusalami or what ever he calls himself
6.Shonekan
7.Mawa
8.Odelli
9. Kalu
and many many more.
Do you really think these folks did not steal?

Do you think if the implementation of the 3rd term bid was successful, IBB will be heavily pressed like this or Vasta issue would have ever come out?

I've said this before, you can not be simple and understand Nigerian politics, you've got to be bright.

You can paste 200 pages of IBB propaganda story if you want, I'm not impress till all ten fingers are treated the same way.
Nobody is painting IBB as a saint, but it is only fair to check the records right, They are all the same, if OBJ could get a chance to come back to redeem himself, IBB deserves one too.

Note for ODEKU: I'm sick and tired of your single or two lines insulting comment, Grow up and let's utilize this forum effectively.

May God bless Nigeria.

Big b , the truth is that I would pefer an Obasanjo or his clone or even worst than to be the president come 2007 than allow the angel of IBB. We forget things too soon, if anyone suppots Ibb, its either he/she was so young when Ibb ruled or may be not in the country then, or was in the prison or just irrational. Even Abacha as devlish as he was was better than Ibb, he was only stupid. IBB will not only fail to rule again, he will also pay for his sins.
