Virgin Nigeria- Is It Coming To An End? by Ilelobola: 2:32pm On Jan 14, 2009
Was browsing their website just now and saw they do not fly longhaul anymore. Someone mentioned it to me before but I didn't believe it. Has Virgin really pulled out? Could this be the beginning of the end of the airline?

I also heard the government is trying to promote a new airline that's just started flying the Lagos-London route like they would a national carrier as it is allegedly owned by some powerful politicians hence the woes befalling Virgin Nigeria. Has anyone heard anything similar before?

Responding to the airline’s announcement, the director general of the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC), Otunba Segun Runsewe, apex tourism agency in the country in a telephone interview with travelafricanews.com, said, “Nigeria needs a national airline that will be supportive of its agency tourism marketing, promotion and development."
