My Honda 1999/2000 model recently started giving bad feeling, I notice any time i apply break while on fast move, the car will jerk b4 it stop, but i notice ,if I am about to stop i change to neutral nothing will happen. My explanation might not be clear ,am confuse
Assume I am approaching to a junction ,I apply brake , once the car slow down it will jerk b4 it stop. But the engine will not off both ac will be working fine.
I don't know what the cause will be but I am suspecting my gear. Pls any thing I need to do pls advice
It is not the gear bro. Change the throttle body and it will stop. Do not touch your gear until you have replaced the throttle body. I perfectly relate to your explanation

@auto wiz, This the result scan
P0122 '. TPS/Pedal position sensor A circuit low input
P0141 '. 02 sensor heater circuit malfunction' back sensor 2
P1166 , malfunction control fuel air metering
Change your oxygen sensor too. P1166 I think it's a Honda speficic code. Might be taken care of when you fix the oxygen sensor fault.

Good day boss.
My car is a honda accord 2001 4cyl.
I recently changed my transmission, but on the new one, the countershaft speed sensor and mainshaft sensor had three pins while the ones on my old transmission had 2 pins. The mech guy had to transfer the sensors from the old one to the new gearbox.

I then noticed that while driving, the transmission upshifts well, but when I slow down, it seems it doesn't downshift to 1, therefore the car will move slowly and gradually speed up no matter how I step on it. This is worse when going uphill.

I also noticed that if I step down to accelerate fast, the car normally downshifts to pick speed, but there is an abnormal 3-4 seconds of drag b4 it downshifts and picks speed.
No blinking D4 and no code on scanning.

Could this be because of the swapped sensors? Or is the gearbox bad?

Oil is DW-1

Thats right. trouble shoot the throttle pedal position code. but b4 changing any parts get a good rewire to check the wiring on that system

was the replacement gear exactly the same with the old one apart from the sensors?

To the best of my layman knowledge, it's the same. Nothing was modified apart from the two sensors mentioned. Although the mech guy said something like this one japan and American spec. That one uses two pin while the other is three pins. That was why the sensors swap was necessary. Can't remember exactly what he said

Kindly give advice what to do if Lexus RX300 doesn't change from gear 3 to 4th gear. Scanned and knock sensors were bad, it was changed and oil changed. Still same problem.

Glad to hear that. I had exactly same issue and almost changed my gear, until scan showed TPS.

I don't know much about the fan belt, but u should start by inspecting it for any physical problems

There are two oxygen sensors on your car, primary and secondary. Primary oxygen sensor is just looking at you if you open your hood. It's the wired man close to where your exhaust comes off ur engine. The secondary is down the exhaust line under the car. It should be the only wired guy on the exhaust line under the car after the catalyst.

I guess you got P0330? The problem is not with your transmission. Whenever knock sensor error is detected, shift to 4th gear, and torque converter clutch is inhibited, and engine goes to low power output.

Did you clear the code after sensor replacement? Did you replace with genuine sensor? Clear code and test drive again.

Didn't scan after the sensor was replaced to clear the code and couldn't tell if the sensor was genuine or not. I will have the sensor
changed and clear the code before test driving. I will give u fit back on this. Thanks a lot. You sound like an experienced mech or ve u had same fault in ur car

You MUST clear the code before your car normalises. Changing the sensor alone does not do this. Clear the code before touching the replacement sensor. If the sensor is bad, the code will come back, and the problem starts again. It may take a while for it to show up again (if current sensor is bad) so, watch it closely.

Hyundai SP-III. frequency of change is open to debate.

The type of ATF is written on the side of the dip stick in some cars for Toyota or Lexus Toyota type-IV is preferred, frequency change depends on inspection , which will reveal how dirty the oil is before venture into changing it and when last it was changed.

P0761 is a solenoid performance code, which affects clutch pack 3 in your transmission. Did this problem start after you changed the oil, or did it take some time? Four things are possibly wrong with your transmission, and I will list them in priority order:

1. The valve connected to your S3 solenoid is stuck.
2. S3 is stuck.
3. Clutch 3 piston failure.
4. Hydraulic leakage in the circuit.

There is a risk with changing atf when the old one has become very dirty. Dirt could find its way into the valve body, and that's where the trouble starts. It is advised t o replace filters during atf change but, it may not make much difference.

Which oil did you use? Out of curiosity, why would you need your reverse to be accelerating? Do you mean it lacks power and requires higher revving? As in, it binds up? It would help if you can provide more details of the issues you are having with your transmission.
