How Data Resellers Scammed Me by Nafizzey(m): 6:37pm On Apr 16, 2015
Honestly initially, I didn’t intend to post this here but in order to prevent innocent unsuspecting members here from falling victims I decided post. Usually I used to buy my data directly from MTN for some time now both my phones and pc usage but since the emergence of SME data re-sellers, I stopped buying directly from MTN and resort to buying from SME data resellers.

Last-week I saw an advert of a data reseller here (nairaland) who sells his data at a relatively cheaper rate compare to others. I bookmarked the page and decided to try him as soon as my data exhaust.

Yesterday I called him to make an inquiry of the current price of his data, network available and validity period of which he explained to me but told me contrary to my expectation that he only accepts bank payment since he sells at a cheaper rate and does not accepts recharge cards. I pled to him to accept recharge card because the bank he uses is not in my vicinity and he agreed but however told me that I will have to pay #600 instead of #500 of which I agreed.

I bought his preferred recharge card and sent him immediately and later called him to confirm if had received the card which he admitted, but told me I have to patiently wait for a while before he sends me my data due to network issues.

As at the time I sent the card to him was around 1:30pm but up to now that I post, he has not sent me my data and have tried several times to call him so as to make a complain but to no avail. His number has been in constant switched off since that very moment

His nairaland username is adeduntaniyabo

Below are his contact and advert details:

I doubt if he intends to scam you tho...

If within 24hrs (from the time you paid) he doesn't credit your sim, then you can label it a scam

saw this claim too. Someone needs to confirm this pls.

His username ends with .....AZEEEZ. He claims he sells 5GB@#1200 and 10GB@ 2000.

He hasn't created a thread for this but instead goes posts in almost every thread, so no way of anyone reporting if he's fake or not.

Who has confirmed the guy? Is he a fraud or genuine. Is it possible to sell@this cheap rate?

if he sees this, let him come and defend himself.

We keep warning people to be very careful of too good to be true deals but they keep falling into the scammers trap. Op should have done his homework about data resellers and how much the data is sold. Instead he decided to go for the cheapest. N500 for 500mb ke? Sorry o, your money has gone to the hungry scammer. God will replace the lost money in multifolds.
