Sepp Blatter has been re-elected as FIFA president for the fifth time after his remaining challenger Prince Ali bin Al-Hussein withdrew from the race, after the first round of voting.

The incumbent Blatter got 133 votes in the first round, while Prince Ali received 73 before stepping aside before the second round of voting. This means 79-year-old Blatter will continue as president for the next four years. Blatter thanked Ali for stepping aside and promised to take the Association from offshore to the beach.
