As President Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe marks his 85th birthday on Saturday we ask whether anyone in the country is in the mood to celebrate.

As in previous years businesses and corporations are being asked to make donations towards the party - with some reports suggesting around $300,000 needs to be raised.

But with the unity government in its infancy, the economy in crisis and many families struggling to feed themselves, some argue that the celebrations should be abandoned.

I have one prayer for him but I cannot say it here before I get tracked down.

Whichever way, why are they celebrating such a big event when their finances are in the toilet. I cannot emphasize how pointless this party is but If they want to celebrate, let them. I want to know how he intends to spend that 300,000 US dollars.
