The rate at which our phone is getting lost on site this days is becoming too much. at least 2 phones every week. Though we have a place where we charge but @ your own risk. They stole mine today and I believe another 1 will still miss before the weekend.
I have heard many times people talk about using Bible and key to detect a thief. But seems many of them have heard and some have seen where it is done but none seems to know how it is done.
I will like Nairalanders to help on this and hope the thief won't die after its done because I don't wanna be a murderer but just to shame thief

I can't remember how it is done but we used to do it in boarding school when something gets missing from the room. It's called Bible roll. The Bible eventually points to the direction of the "accused thief". Days of ignorance that was

It works very well, we even use the koran to catch thieves in the hostel. You dear not think of even stealing in the first instance.

how is it done pls

We once did this back then.. will xplain how it's done later. But I advice u just let go.. this is how it's done..
1. Get a Bible.
2. Get a key(not anyhow key, but a key that that two pple can hold with a finger on both edges)
3. Get a rope(more like a string).
4. Get two pple..
5. Locate the middle of the Bible.
6. Put the key inside, in a way, where 2pple can hold both edges..
7. Use dat rope to tie the key with the bible..
When all these steps are done,
8. Call those 2 peeps to hold each side of d key tied to d Bible (d Bible will look like an anchor).
9. Start calling names of ur suspects Eg, if it's John that stole my fone, start turning..
Assuming it's John that actually stole it, the Bible will turn clockwise..

I won't advice u to do such steps because
1. It could be counter-productive
2. It's a sin.
3. It can cause more harm than good..
4. U see those two peeps that will hold d key for u might be biased.. take for instance, I'm d one who actually stole ur fone... and u called me to be among those who will hold d key.. (mind u, u must also call d names of those holding the key for you) if u call my name, I might hold tight to d key. So assuming I have grudge against John, u call him name, I fit set am up, by spinning d key. Automatically, he's d suspect.. I bliv u understand this.
5. When the truth finally comes out, and u found out you've accused the wrong person.. u can never rebuild such frndship anymore.. and I repeat NEVER..

So, with these few points of mine, I hope u re convinced that u shldnt carry out that plan.. leave am for God Hand.
