I want to use this forum to air my predicament in my shopping experience with dealdey.com and warn others against falling into the same trap I did. I am a regular online shopper. From Jumia to Ebay, I shop. So I decided to try dealdey, who have been bombarding me with their special offers via email. Big mistake.

I started with a small transaction of three items costing 1k each. After paying, the first thing I noticed was the delivery period of 10working days. Even eBay items from China sometimes arrive sooner. Any zeal you av for the item ordered would fizzled out by then. Anyway, I chose to exercise patience even though I didn't have much of a choice after payment. Within minutes of paying, I was notified that one of the items had been "processed" and I would be contacted once it was ready for collection. (Note: collection, not delivered to you). There was no notice of processing of the other two items. I assumed processed meant "dispatch". Another mistake.

After 7 days, I contacted their customer service (via mail since they just won't pick my call). I was concerned that the other two items were not yet processed. The chances of receiving them in 10 working days was slim since they had yet to process them after 7days. Dealdey replied me by saying I should just wait for my 10 working days. At the expiry of that period, I received a mail that one of the unprocessed items was no longer available and my (dealdey) account had been credited with N1k. I think refunding the money back to my debit card is preferable. I don't see myself buying from DealDey again. You are not given the option of where you want ur refund. Don't Paypal refund ur money back to your debit card?? Sounds like 419 to me.

13 working days later, nothing from dealdey. I emailed them again and it took Customer care two days to even acknowledge my complaint! After 15 working days, I am yet to receive my goods, refund or explanation from DealDey. If this isn't obtaining money by trick a.k.a 419, then I don't know what is. It's possible that some other nairalanders have had good experience with DD or even worse than mine. Personally, I won't recommend them to my enemy. Take your money elsewhere. These guys are just fraudulent and a mock outfit, not an online shop. Thank God it's only N3k.

Pay On Delivery is the key!. Whenever you are ordering for anything on any Nigerian website, just opt for the POD option! You ll have nothing to loose then.

I am a regular lover of gadgets and an online purchase champion!! When dealdey started, i was happy and did a lot of indirect marketing for them!!! but today i will go through any length to keep my friends away from dealdey!!!

This is why: -

EXPERIENCE 1 - I ordered a USB 7.1-Channel Sound Adapter from them since dec 2014 and i have not received it till date (June 20, 2015). i got tired of calling customer care and even complaining. at a point i had to let it go. the good thing is that what i ordered is just N1000 worth.

Experience 2 - i ordered a 16,500 casio wrist watch, what was on the website wasn't what was delivered. i rejected it twice, they changed it but still got the wrong item the third time. i simply asked for a refund which i got after forever.

Experience 3 - THERE ARE NO DEALS ON DEALDEY, MOST DEALS ARE FAKE. i have noticed that items are actually sold cheaper than what dealdey claim to sell as deals. i have bought countless items in the open market (mostly tech) way cheaper that dealdey deals. Take for an example, this deal i saw now, june 20, 2015. A Western Digital 1TB Portable drive (1TB WD). In the open market i bought an original 1TB WD for N14,500 just yesterday June 19, 2015. But dealdey is offering same item at "44% off" and yet the price is still N15,500!!! WHERE IS THE DEAL? they claim u are saving "₦12,501" - SCAMMERS!!!! - see attached pix

RECOMMENDATIONS - STAY AWAY FROM THEIR TECH SECTION, IT IS A SCAM!!!

SCAMMERS!!! These days i dont buy from any nigerian site anymore, i take the pain of buying from ebay, amazon, and simply ship all my items at once. at least i get better deals from foreign sites that our nigerian scam sites!!!

i had to use police to recover my money. bad customer service. for almost three month i was calling sending email.... until i went to there office at town planning with police.

I feel relieved am not alone and brought the scammers to the fore. I just learnt dealdey and Konga is owned by the same person.

I have been buying stuffs on dealdey for the past 2 years with no ish until last month I bought an item worth 1k, till date I didn't get a text regards whereabout of my order and dealer said he processed it same day.

Am sorry this is your experience.I have been buying from deal dey and I don't have any problem. I just bought a A/C and presently I am expecting some items (washing machine and Television . I hope to keep having this experience though there is room for improvement. Sorry once again.

Well, that's why I will always bank on "Pay on Delivery"! Until I see my ordered goods and test it properly before I pay with my hard earned cash.

I think its pretty much logical. If they won't deliver items of a thousand naira in peace, why buy items worth tens or hundreds of naira from them?

As for me, dealdey has disappointed me too and so I stopped buying things from them. I bought a car vacuum cleaner and a charger around December, I picked up the car vacuum but the charger was nowhere to be found. I mailed and called but no reasonable response. I just gave up cos the price was about 2500. I didn't think it was worth the hassle. SO I GAVE UP ON CALLING THEM OR BUYIING ANY PRODUCT FROM THE WEBSITE. I still purchase services from them though, at least with that, it's just to print coupon and present at the shop. No need mailing for any rubbish product defect.
