Rivers Police Debunks Report Of Explosion In Court by shudi(m): 9:30pm On Jul 09, 2015
The Rivers State Police Command has debunked
rumours that there was an explosion at the
premises of the Federal High Court.

The Command in a statement signed by its Police
Public Relations Officer, Ahmed Mohammad said
the report of the explosion was a false alarm.
Mohammad explained that one of the casual
security personnel in the Federal High court only
raised a false alarm.

It also disclosed the command had gotten a tip-off
that some groups were planning to cause unrest in
the state in protest of the Federal High Court ruling
in Port Harcourt.

The command, however, warned that any one or
group caught inciting the public will be arrested and
punished.

The statement reads, “The Rivers State Police
Command wishes to dispel the report/rumour
making the rounds that there was explosion this
morning at the premises of the Federal High Court,
Port Harcourt.

“For the purpose of clarity, a security man of the
court around 5:30 am observed and raised alarm
that a Hilux vehicle belonging to the court and
parked in the premises was on fire.

“The fire minimally torched the rear tyre of the
vehicle before it was extinguished.

“It is, therefore, untrue that there was an explosion
at the Federal High Court Port Harcourt today
Thursday, 09th July, 2015.

“The activities of the Federal High Court Port
Harcourt went smoothly, there was no disruption or
apparent threat to public peace and property.

“Relatively, the Command has received intelligence
that some persons are planning disturbance of
public peace in reaction to the judgment of the
Federal High Court Port Harcourt concerning Local
Government Councils.

“The Command warns that disturbance of public
peace, manifest and brazens acts of threat,
violence and brigandage still constitute offences
under our laws.

“We shall, therefore, deal decisively with any
breaches of public peace in accordance with our
laws.

“Members of the public are advised to go about
their normal businesses without fear of molestation;
parents are to restrain their children/wards from
acts that are capable of endangering their lives or
bringing them in confrontation with the law. The
police will do all it takes to protect innocent
citizens from acts of violence”.

The Plateau state governor break a promise to the state that he will not sack the 17 LGA chairmen all being members of PDP. Few days ago he sacked all of them and nothing happened.

Why so much noise in Rivers state?

You guys ranting over the place are obviously dumb. If after ranting about the bomb blast which you dumbos claimed happened at the court and which has been eventually debunked as mere rumors, why would anyone want to take the Association of Wailing Wailers serious again with their false stories??

I also feel if you dumbos love bombs so much, you can relocate to Sambisa. This recent trend of you idiots peddling false information about bombings all the time is getting sickening and unfortunate. All thanks to RadioBiafra and its imaginary "bomb stories".
