Chelsea are leading the chase for Barcelona forward Pedro Rodriguez, who has accepted that his future lies away from the Nou Camp following the arrival of Arda Turan from Atletico Madrid.

Pedro has been linked with Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City this summer but Spanish media outlet Sport claims Chelsea lead the race- with Jose Mourinho happy to match Barcelona’s £22m asking-price.On top of this, the Daily Mirror states Chelsea will lodge a £20m bid this week although discussions are unlikely to begin until after the Catalan club’s presidential elections- where the final decisions on any transfers will be made.Pedro won the treble with Barcelona last term but struggled to gain regular first-team football from October onwards, as Luis Suarez returned from a hefty ban to make his debut for the Catalan giants and went on to impress.
A formidable forward trio consisting of Suarez, Lionel Messi and Neymar kept Pedro out of the side but the Spanish international signed a new deal in May, suggesting he would remain. However, the situation has now changed and an exit is likely.
