Do The Angels Have Free Will by bawomolo(m): 1:50am On Mar 09, 2009
Lucifer was a fallen angel who also took fallen angels with him as well, right??

So do Angels still have freewill? Can An angel tell God he dooesn't want to follow his orders??

OR,

Can a angel who used to roll with Satan ask God for forgiveness and move back to heaven?? (Since Satan is destined to Lose anyway)

Thoughts,

If Angel Gabriel says fu to God, can you come back crawling for forgiveness or do we mortals have special status in the eyes of God? Is it to late for the fallen angels to repent before Armageddon?

Angels dont have the freewill to choose what they want to do. They're subjective to God's will and order cheesy

Fallen angels are no longer considered angels. they have the right to decide who to obey

Why did they disobey if God had control and dominion over them? can they come back to God?

This is actually a very deep and troublesome question than may appear at first sight. Christian theology is built on the idea that freewill was the bane of humankind. But if God knowingly endowed human with freewill, then he should have known that this would lead man into "sin". If he did not know this, then he cannot be omniscient.

Further, what is god going to do with freewill in the long term? If all beings have freewill, will there be a time when freewill will be removed from said beings? Will the much-longed-for new world have beings with freewill?

Do all beings in heaven have freewill and will god purge heaven of those who missuse their freewill.

If god had created beings without freewill, would we have known that we are missing this apparently essential element of what makes us humans?

Hmmm i thought we all would be singing hymns and praising God(s) when we get to heaven/paradise.

that brings another question, can we fall out of favor when we get to heaven?

What is Will, free or fettered?
Re: Do The Angels Have Free Will by Nobody: 1:18am On Mar 11, 2009
@ poster,
it is only in human spirit free will is inherent. Angels dont have free will, so do the elemental beings. They only work according to the laws of nature which is embedded and one with the laws of the creator.
The issue of lucifer came into being when he's on a mission on earth due to his impatience a new and ugly thought arose within him and this happening was due to the fact of the distance between the LIGHT and him was too great, so he failed in his mission and the connecction between him and GOD was caught off.

Thats my own small piece of contribution, hope it helps.

Angels have free will. Every creature in heaven is there by choice. Those with the devil chose to follow him. There's a hierachy in power and prestige, and Lucifer was powerful enough to believe he could take over the leadership, and to convince innumerable angels he could succeed. He appears to have been someone really marvelous, until 'iniquity was found in him'. They decided to cast their lot with him, went to war, lost and were thrown out of the place.

I don't know much about it, but it appears different dynamics govern spirits and people, so I don't think they can come crawling back, since they are unregenerately evil. They are full of a rage and hatred beyond even the most depraved human being's grasp. Lucifer owns and rules this world. He is outrightly called the prince and god of this world by Christ, and he offers Christ the kingdoms of this world if he would bow down and worship him. He wouldn't offer him this world if it wasn't his to offer, would he?And all you have to do is watch the news at any hour to see the effects of his reign in this world. They have free will o. They're not robots, programmed to do God's will.If so they wouldn't have been able to rebel in the first place.

What is will? What is free will? Where do free will come from? What is the origin of free will? What is an angel? and what are angels made off? The above questions should first be answered by the poster.

Correct.

Yes they still have free will, but they wouldn't be that foolish to make the same mistake Lucifer and his angels committed. Would you use crack knowing what it can do to you, even though you are free to use it?

OR, Can a angel who used to roll with Satan ask God for forgiveness and move back to heaven?? (Since Satan is destined to Lose anyway)

It is already too late. God in His mercy did offer them a chance to return to the path of safety, but Lucifer and his rebel angels eventually hardened their hearts. Remember that God is love, and there can be no doubt that He pleaded with Lucifer and his sympathizers.

Recall what St. Peter said that ", God is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance, "

God loves all of His creatures and He provided free will for all of them. He made them with intelligent minds to reason. The problem is that we are not sure how sin manifested in Lucifer because according to the bible He was made perfect. That is called the mystery of iniquity.

If Angel Gabriel says fu to God, can you come back crawling for forgiveness or do we mortals have special status in the eyes of God? Is it to late for the fallen angels to repent before Armageddon?

Each person on planet earth is given a probationary time period. Everything we think and do is recorded in the books of heaven. You see before the church reaches heaven each member has to be judged. If you have Jesus as your advocate you will be safe, but if you follow Satan's ways and your probation runs out on you, then you will be lost.

We cannot tell when our probation will end. It could be tomorrow for anyone of us, we don't know. A person's probation can run out before he or she dies, in which case he or she becomes a reprobate. Such are open targets for Satan's service.

how are you sure the fallen Angels are "unregenerately" evil. is this unquenchable hate recorded in the Bible?

Re: Do The Angels Have Free Will by Lagosboy: 9:11am On Mar 16, 2009
In islamic concept, angels do not have the free will to do anything and that is the difference between angels on one hand and men and Jinn on the other.

Lucifar,Satan,Shaiytan, devil, Iblis or any name you wish for him was not an angel but a jinn. Q18 vs 50

Man is made from clay and jinn from fire and that was the arrogance of Satan for not bowing to Adam at his creation. He was rebuked for his arrogance and pride.

Angels are not subject to hell fire as they have never been given a free will to do evil and the men and Jinn that pass the test of the world and make it to paradise are rated above the inhabitants of paradise as they went through the rigours of temptations of the world.

You seem terribly concerned that these 'fallen angels' find redemption or something. What's up with that man? Like I said, I'm new at this and still don't get a lot of things. From verses like he's a lion seeking whom to devour, and other stuff about him, you get the impression there is no reconciliation between him and God, though they do converse. That he is unregenerate you get from Revelations, whose heavy imagery and symbolism makes it difficult to read, but one gtes the picture. Satan and his ilk are evil and will continue to be so until the 'end'. Nothing in the Bible suggests otherwise. Nothing in this world, which is his, suggests otherwise.

@ Mad_Max

how are you sure the fallen Angels are "unregenerately" evil. is this unquenchable hate recorded in the Bible?

Yes it is recorded in several sections of the bible.

"Your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour." 1 Peter 5:8.

"Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time." Revelation 12:12

When a person becomes unrepentant, either resentment, or anger takes over. When the mind becomes filed with hatred and pride, then what follows is pure evil. Satan cannot go back to a state of righteousness. His allotted time to repent has been far spent, and even he knows that.

That is why he's trying to garner as many souls to side with him, but not because he likes them, but because he wants no one to inherit what he once had - the joy that comes from God's love for His creation. Remember he knew what heaven was like.
