or If he had 12 and God took 1 (pair). So 12 - 1 = 11.

If God took just one piece from one side (half). The he would have 13 on one side and 12 on the other; or 12 on one side and 11 on the other depending on the original number he had 12 or 13.

So what is the big deal? He will still live normally with the 12 like every normal human. This DOES NOT mean that his offspring will have the same ribs(s) lacking.
