Is The Religion We Have Really Worth It? by haul: 1:43am On Jul 19, 2015
I'm born as a Christian, but my grand parents were muslim, but you know as a man you need to make some certain decisions. The whole contradicting things I see in islam-Christianity as really made me go into recluse to ask myself a lot of questions.

Is this whole religion a lie?

Was there Christianity and islam during the days of oduduwa or whatever founding fathers? Still this old-men knew the right from wrong, knew if they put a knife or gun to a living soul it means death.

I asked myself do you really need a bible or a quran to tell you if you do that its a sin? So I came into conclusion that a mans conscience is his greatest judgment! Believe me,no matter how hard you are, your conscience will pick you when you going wrong.

When I look at various segregation amidst Christians,so many doctrines, inter congregation hate,so many wars by sunni and shiate muslims in the world,I ask myself is religion worth it? No.

But one certain thing is this, I believe there is a Creator somewhere, cause every living-thing as a king, progenitor, ants as kings, humans have leaders. so,I so much believe there is a Creator,I believe I need to adore him, make him feel like the Creator he really is,and let my conscience be my guide and judge.

By your logic...if every living thing has a leader and that leader is the same specie and not divine in any way,why would humans have a super metaphysical being as a leader and not a fellow human, unless ants and the rest have their own gods modelled in their own image? undecided

And since the universe isn't a living thing then no "king or leader is needed"....

Engaging in differing opinions are what make us more knowledgeable...you can be convinced of a god all you want but when you come in an open forum to share such views you've given out that laxity of privacy...

Which of the creator are you adoring and making him to feel like the creator? And in the other way round saying that your conscience should be your guide and judge.

How did you arrive at the conclusion that your conscience is truly leading you to a creator, after guiding and judging yourself with your conscience.

I get your point, but you know what I believe the world didn't create itself, and surely there must be something behind the world, the climate, vegetation, sun, moon, stars, I feel all this things are not coincidence, there is something supernatural telling the world to act the way it is not scientist or human. Or have humans told the sun to surface at night and it happened? I believe in a creator.

I can't change you bro,so you can't change me,its a decision. I don't just support the idea of religion that's all.

I get your point, but you know what I believe the world didn't create itself,
who said it did?... undecided
We've studied planet formation to be nothing more than the force of gravity acting up on solar accretion disks to form planets smiley
and surely there must be something behind the world, the climate, vegetation, sun, moon, stars,
Living things are a mystery....the rest have naturalistic origins backed up by evidence and facts...the moon is a leftover from the earths formation...i could provide peer reviewed papers of this if you want...
I feel all this things are not coincidence, there is something supernatural telling the world to act the way it is not scientist or human. Or have humans told the sun to surface at night and it happened? I believe in a creator.
I don't know why you keep saying "coincidence" as if that's my position because it isn't.....but i get where you're coming from, your thinking is split in two(either A or B)... i.e either a god is at play or "coincidence" undecided

Feelings have no say in the reality of things....people all over from time immemorial have let their "feelings" tell them many wrong things...from the earth is flat to black people are inferior to mirrors are magical to rain is someone opening a tap in the sky...can you separate yourself from them since you also base your belief on feelings? undecided

I didn't decide one day to be an atheist...i looked at the support for everything i believed in and it was based on inaccuracies....back then i believed in UFO's,big-foot,magic,god,conspiracies,etc....now i'm amazed i made it out because the more you fill your mind with inaccuracies the more your perception of reality becomes inaccurate and since perceptions are what we base our choices and actions on,the more bad choices and actions you make... smiley

The creator I'm adoring is the architect and engineer of the universe, the one who knows all,the supreme supernatural being.

Don't get it twisted, never said my conscience is leading me, what I alluded to was that my conscience is my guide, when I'm about hurt my fellow human feelings,my consciences pricks me to tell me I'm about todo the wrong thing, and if I go recalcitrant it will judge me, its called guilty conscience.

Have you ever pick someones pen in an exam and the owner needs it badly that he/she found themselves helpless and guilty conscience pricks you so hard that you had to return it?

I've seen people who don't and it's the amygdala in the brain where such empathy comes from....any damge to that or genetic disease affecting that and you'd be a psychopath.... grin

You've seen who don't? Definitely such person is not mentally stable. I've got a conscience and it guides and judge me,believe me its really help me.

Its a free world to associate to any belief it makes the world interesting.

You mean I don't tolerate further discussions when my views are questioned, isn't it? Yea cause I know I've told you all I know but still won't adhere to me cause we don't follow same beliefs, individual difference bro, what else do you want me to say bro? I know you want me to tell you what you want to hear but this are clearly my views,if I hid anything my conscience be the judge man.

It can't fly in the face of everyone one that's why its not meant for everyone one, there are 99 beliefs in the world this is just one, its voluntary not a must .

You can play the guilt trip all you want....i'm asking you questions not because i don't adhere to your beliefs but to make you aware they're not coherent and are not well-founded...that's it.

It was clear you wanted to eat your cake and have it by saying you despise religion but believe in a god that shares characteristics with mainstream religion and thus unfounded as the religious one is... smiley

Good,so why do you insist on it being correct for yourself?....is your reason justified enough for everyone or can anyone use it to believe anything?

Is it some sort of deistic god. You can't just start adoring fantasies without any justification. There must be something or a medium that you are convinced of its existence before adoring it. since you claimed that all religions don't worth it in your post.
It is Logically fallacious and weird to believe in unknown thing that bear no link to reaching it.

Its no guilt card bro, you mention my beliefs are not well grounded? They are not well grounded cause you never open a clear mind to it, look farther than your nose with your eye there lies your mouth.

Yeah,I belief there is a creator cause I've seen things beyond explanation of man, things human hasn't go beyond, things beyond human knowledge, this you know but you won't agree and I'm not here to make you agree either cause I respect your beliefs so should do mine.

Bro I insist on it for myself cause it has really helped me to preach more love than hate.

Well can anyone use it to believe anything? Yes so far the person deem it fit, moreso,if the person is moral enthusiast then he may find it worthy.

I'm not here to convince someone to fall inline with it,this is just my own belief and soley responsible for my actions.

An open mind does not mean swallowing a claim,it means giving someone a chance to prove his case....i've given you a chance and all you keep coming up with are just arguments from ignorance.. i.e "don't know x therefore i'll believe it's y"..

Unexplained things do not equate to there being a supernatural entity at play....many known things today where once explained by people like you as handiwork of one god or the other...from a rain god,to a sun god,to an earthquake god,etc...you are just following the trend of those people...following blindly that which you want to believe because there is no explanation for it...

Unfortunately you see it fallacious but I find it as some sort of thing that check balance my way of life.

You said this;

Blatantly enough there is no where I've made some similar subliminal towards your reason for believing in atheism. We both deserve respect of beliefs man,its no force.
