You're a Uniben student and you don't know why people didn't use the bridge?
It's not just to get bridge, it's LOCATION is of utmost importance. You don't expect people to use isolated bridges which forms haven for crooks.
what makes d bridges isolated? is it not when people don't use it?if students were using it, it wouldn't be isolated and mind you d bridge was just beside main gate I know because I've lived in benin esp if ugbowo area for a very lng tym

Speed braker especially is going to help. Cars knocking down students of Benue University was frequent along the Gboko road express until the speed brake was introduced.
How can people be talking of 'speed breaks' on 'free way'? Pedestrian bridge full stop. The so-called speed breaks would cause more harm than good in no time.

dat road & ring road opposite museum are near death & hell . drivers plying dem got no mercies. I always run crossing them. pedestrian bridge will fix it being an express way.

as for some of these ladies & boys stop making shakara & swag on road & high way . it is better they call u village gjrl than if death knock u suddenly like dis, ur rapture has come.

I sincerely sympathise with d family of d young girl.

MAY GOD GRACE REST ON US ALL.

The death of the student was saddening. However UNIBEN appears to be one of the few schools built on a very busy express road/high way.

AAU Ekpoma is along d Ekpoma- Auchi express way, even Ekiti state university is also along d expressway, what d govt had to do is to construct Overhead bridge and speed breakers. Either the state govt or d school authority had to do so because the funds are there RIP.

Yeah, you're right. But you'd agree with me that the volume of traffic on those roads cannot be compared to that of Benin, same also goes for the population in both schools.

What a Great loss to the family of the parents.

The military is one set of lawless and indiscipline body. They kill people indiscriminately due to their carelessness.

Something have to be done about that express road. When I was in school, fear even grip me most times when crossing that express road. The road is just too busy. The student should keep the protest on till something is done about it.

RIP to her & quick recovery to the lady in hospital.

the harm the speed break will cause is traffic...

It is better there is traffic than death. I know it is very difficult to construct speed break on trunk A roads but we have to consider the lives of the student.

Over head bridge can take the government more than two years to construct due to their slow pace work just exactly what happen in Auchi poly but it is completed now. So speed break will be needed before the construction of the bridge.

you didn't even reserve comments for the lady that died during the process but concerned only about yourself...

We should learn to feel for others than ourselves and family. We shouldn't be self-centered in what we do always. If it was a member of your family now, you would've been sorrowful...

Just pray you pass the exams...

What that place need is a subway,an underground pedestrian crossing. It is a motorway and a death trap for pedestrians.

Somebody usually has to die for speed breakers to be provided.
That is how one school teacher was knocked down by a speeding vehicle because there were no speed breakers in front of the school.
And the annoying thing is that, the following week, the local government quickly constructed the speed breaker.

Another thing is that Nigerians don't know how to use the road. Reckless driving everywhere.

Overhead pedestrian bridge is long overdue. Oshomole, you can provide this, is not everything you wait for FGN

My Alma mater... what is happening again? The same ugbowo express road. That express road has claimed the lives of uniben student for a long time now.

I know if not that it was a military operatives that caused the satanic act, the men would ve been smelling hell by now. No one is above the law. We have barristers in uniben, a case should be filed against the army In court for murder. The case should be followed to the latter. The military must be put in order.

They need speed breaker and flyover. I agreed. I don't see reasons the SUG are protesting for speed breaker when they can do it right there. They should give the government and school authorities 3days ultimatum to construct speed breakers on the
road or they close down the express road and school gate. If flyover need to be constructed, it should be directly in front of the school and also at UBTH. The should nor construct a single flyover in-between. It will only be isolated.

I just pray the protest yield positive result. I trust my uniben guyz. They never give up until their needs are granted.

RIP to the dead lady and quick recovery to the hospitalized girl.

can you lister to yourself. If it's a member of your family that died, will you think about class? Don't be self-centered. Try and develop feeling for people.

You didn't join the protest or feel for the late girl. You said you are in your hostile doing nothing... they should do a protest on a public holiday. see the way your brain thinks? Uniben student don't think that way...

On a normal day that there is class, not that you even go for the classes. Forming serious student when you know you are not...If you are tired staying in the hostel, go and do something meaningful... don't come and here to say trash...

I am not trying to be insensitive but even when a pedestrian bridge was there uniben students did not use it until it was removed due to d reconstruction of d road,it's one thing to put a pedestrian bridge and it's another thing to use it even with d common pedestrian walkway available, students still prefer to walk on d road.. let's be sincere with ourselves
. ..mind you I am a uniben student...Rip to d dead...justice must be served anyway

U obviously know nothing about that flyover. . The fly over in question was over 20 years old. Metal and rickety. . If you were a uniben student when it was available and u climbed it. U obviously would have known that the fly over was shaking and it had missing tiles.. What was supposed to be a succour was a death trap. Go to Abuja and compare the kind of flyover there with what was available in maingate

Dude if you have travelled from Onitsha to Lagos before I'd like for you to show me where there is a speed break. None. Cos it's a 'highway'. Meaning vehicular movement is anticipated to be fast. Do think that the people using that road are just Benin or people from the neighbourhood alone? That’s why they don't fix speed breaks on highways. If done, in a couple of years, you will lead campaign for its removal believe you me. You just think it's adverse effects is traffic right, probably you don't think of the accidents it would cause too. Maybe by then one overzealous Christian would then it's the witches in Benin that are causing the accidents.
