Question of the day: Goodmorning nairalanders, Kindly help me with an explanation on this issue. The Pastor of my local church said that the soft copy of the Holy Bible in electronic devices cannot be classified as a Bible. It is only the hard copy that can be said to be the real Bible. So those who are reading the Bible from electronic devices are not reading the real Bible. Kindle help me with an explanation on the true position. Thank you.

The power of the bible is in reading the words, lessons, examples, and counsels inside. Not in using it as pillow or putting it under the armpit or using it a shield.

The hard and soft copies offer the same words and messages and have their pros and cons.

I make notes in my hard copy which I am not able to do with the soft copy. The soft copy is readily available and easy to carry, which the hard one isnt.

I can't say why, other than holding on blindly to personal preferences and wanting others to live by such.

The pastors forget that the present hard copy is a product of technological advancement. It used to be scrolls and tablets. The bible didn't have chapters and verses. But advancement in technology has made it possible for us to read the bible anywhere anytime.

As long as the messages isn't changes and God's name isn't removed from it, its a good bible!

You just spoke the truth which they (any of the "immature, over zealous, they-know-all about Christianity believers) fail to understand.

It's just like when the same set of Christians says all women putting on trouser is going to he'll because they read "whatever pertains to a man, a female should not put on". Forgetting that during those days, men put on robes, gown so where come about the trousers being what the bible says...
