That's what obasanjo wants.
Someone that will carry him along as the president.
If you don't, you're suddenly bad and the demonizing campaign against you starts.

The day Bubu decides not to carry Obj to one of his numerous trips, Obj will now go back and pick up his pen and paper and start his letter writing and before u say jack, he is already at the post office.

This was exactly how he started with the Imbecilic GEJ who remains the best out of all these retrogressive recycled lots.

1-israel has ceded lots of land to the palestinians
2-russia ceded georgia as a breakaway state
3-united states has ceded millions of acres of land in the midwest to china recently to cover their debt
4-france ceded new orleans to america

Lol. You know some history but still rather shallow.

(1) Since about 70AD when they Jews were scattered from Israel, they hardly owned any land in Palistine. Until 1948. The so-called ceded land belonged to either Palistinians or King of Jordan until the Arab-Israeli wars about 43 to 50 years ago. So they are using land that UN Resolutions 242 of 1967 and 446 of 1979 already state clearly that Israel should leave all occupied territories. So which land are they ceding? The one that doesn't belong to them in first place?

(2) Read the history of how Russian Czars occupied Georgia/Caucasus and even tried occupying Finland in the 1930s.

(3) You mean the purported ceded land in MW is now part of People's Republic of China? shocked Please educate me on this.

(4). Having lived, studied and worked in France in the past, you can hardly tell me anything about this. Napoleon sold Lousiana, not just N. Orleans. Lousiana territory of then was about 828,000 square miles. Nearly as big as Nigeria! It stretched from N. Orleans to lower part of Alberta & Saskatchewan in Canada! The price was fifty million Francs and a debt of 18 million Francs cancelled too. All worth a total of about 15 million Dollars then. To fund his wars. History is taught thoroughly in France.

all you have done is provided reasons why all those lands were ceded, same way obasanjo had his own reasons too. cant you see ? there is always a reason for doing something

What reasons can he have that we the citizens do not have the right to know in a democracy?

Can he cede Owu/Ogun to Benin Republic?

His reason was selfish & unpatriotic.

He was playing statesman to foreigners to the detriment of Nigerian citizens.

he could have started a war with cameroon and millions died and for what ? a piece of land ?. he prevented that. the man has been in a civil war and does not want to go through it again, now a man ought to get a lil credit for that type of selfless action.

Nigeria has ceded land to Cameroon before. Legally.

Much of Anglophone Cameroon was ceded by Eastern Region & Nigerian Govt. After a referendum. Why did OBJ not do that in a democratic govt?

So Nigeria should now be pooing in its pants for fear of war with Cameroon?

if you know the history of the land you will know that most nigerians relocated to what is called nigeria from the northeastern parts of africa ( israel and egypt area today ) as early as a couple thousand years ago after the ptolemy takeover of egypt and the roman takeover of the middle-east. although a few were there thousands of years before that. so in actuality the land belongs to no one. and secondly we are all the same people separated by colonial masters language. point being land belongs to no one. if they got the land from obasanjo ? then it was their cosmic destiny to get that land. its all spiritual.

this obasanjo is some type of enigma. i dont know what makes this man tick. he is a statesman. knows how to schmooze the international crowd

Obasanjo is very powerful and has powerful friends (locally and internationally). Obasanjo sits on the board of trustees of many international NGOs. One of the mistakes Jonathan made was accepting the advice of his aides to alienate Obasanjo. Immediately he took that advice, the international communities got cold with Nigeria.

Obasanjo is a frenemy, try to work against him you would be marking your time, you can ask his enemies. Bring him close and enjoy rich support and resources (locally and internationally)

Complete lie about Africans coming from wherever. No DNA evidence. That's 19th century eurocentric theory. The only anthropological and paleontological evidence puts man's origin clearly in Africa. Yes. There were migrations here and there. People have always been in the Niger-Congo basin. Migrations maximum from Sudan and Congo/Zaire area most likely but mixed with aboriginal people. Ptolemy taking over Egypt hardly changed Egypt demographically, just a new elite. The Romans also didn't drive away blacks from the middle East. Even black soldiers were part of Roman occupiers of Britain. Some becoming rich after service to afford elaborate tombstone. With African origin inscribed in them. The theory colonialists used to claim we didn't own the land in the first place is dead. Africans need to think Afresh.
