Our dear NANS executives has gone mad again, awarding Buruji Kashamu as ‘Golden Man of the Year? It is disappointing that a body meant to represent the interest of Nigerian students has over the years lost its focus, such that one keeps wondering the essence of the continual existence of NANS. Who is NANS? Is is the youth wing of PDP? When students and youths call themselves the "leaders of tomorrow", but prefer not to carve an identity for themselves and take a moral stand against all that has put them in subjugation, this will continue to happen.

The incident of an SUG's phone bill budget in a renown university in the southwest is still fresh on my mind. These are our future leaders! It's high time the former and the present student protest and move a motion to scrap this arm of corrupt ridden bunch of people called NANS while the government start probing them. Imagine our so called future leaders associating themselves with an alleged drug baron who has destroyed a lot of youths through his profession!

It is disappointing that a body meant to represent the interest of Nigerian students has over the years lost its focus, such that one keeps wondering the essence of the continual existence of NANS. When did Saraki become a member of NANS? Is he a Nigerian student?
Am I surprised that NANS could do this? Not exactly. Student Union Governments (SUGs) are a replica of typical Nigerian governments. Few months ago, we voted en masse to chart a new course for our bleeding country and we are gradually seeing the results. Why has NANS, which consists of Nigeria's future leaders, failed to realise that a new sheriff is in town? it was reported that an SUG, in its budget, earmarked over 1 million naira for phone calls? Do they want to call heaven ni? So, what would NANS say their concern is? When was the last time NANS protested for the cause of Nigerian Students? Students are being harrased by lecturers, hostel living condition horrible, students die owing to the negligence of school management or government and so on, we have not heard anything from NANS. A 40 years old man parading himself as the NANS president? How outrageous.
