PETITION AGAINST THE MINISTERIAL NOMINEE FROM OUR
DEAR STATE (SOKOTO).

Dear Mr. President,
Majority of the people of Sokoto state are mournful to hear
the name of your ministerial nominee from the state
(Sokoto) in person of MISS A'ISHA ABUBAKAR. We're not
denying her to be from the state, but been Sokoto THE SEAT
OF THE CALIPHATE, we deserved to be honoured with
'male' and dedicated person to be our representative in the
Federal Executive Council, don't we?
The good people of Sokoto state are solidly behind you and
tirelessly stood and mounted their support for your
candidature which helped in bringing you in to Aso Rock as
our democratically elected President. And according to the
Nigerian constitution, Section 147(3) as amended, the
President shall appoint at least One Minister from each
state, who shall be an indigene of such state, but yet there
is need to bring 'politically' supportive, helpful and
responsible person!
Look at for instance nominees from Kwara, Rivers, Ekiti,
Lagos and Kano states, if justice was made from such
states, and were selected based on merit and track records,
why not in Sokoto?
I have firm believe that, number of just, God fearing,
righteous, widely admired and technocrats individuals are
quietly available in the nook and crannies of our dear state,
(people like NAMADINA ABDULRAHMAN ) but all deserted
and pick unpopular, strange and unknown person to
represent over 4million people in the Federal Executive
Council, I don't think this is fair to us, do you?
We are not pushing you to as a matter of necessity replace
the name, why? Because you are the President and is your
constitutional right, but we are, as concerned supporters of
yours, admonishing you to have rethink and consult more
for better and superior person.
I acquainted with solid proof that, majority of the people of
this state are not happy with this development more
especially when considering the fact that, individuals are
been appointed on such sensitive positions based on their
efforts to help, aid or assist their immediate community,
which frankly not recognized from the record books of the
nominee locally.
With this piece, I and millions of people that I'm the same
page with, here to oppose and reject MISS A'ISHA
ABUBAKAR as ministerial nominee from Sokoto state. And
we call our Senators not to endorse her for screening/
confirmation, unless otherwise.

Just because she is a women? I hope the man would not feel bad if someone does the same thing to his daughter if she is ever nominated for anything!

@OP, stop portraying Northern Muslims as extremists. One guy was tutored yesterday here on Nairaland. He said six out of the seven Ministerial Nominees are from the North while one is from the West. He said the South and East should have presented as well. And he was asked to shut up by the sane people here on Nairaland.

It's the President's Constitutional responsibility to nominate a Minister from each State and he has done so. Is there any where it's stated in the Constitution that the Ministerial Nominee from Sokoto State must be a man or an active Politician? I don't just understand you o. .You ain't even saying she's not competent; all you're saying is that she's 'her' and not 'him'. Is it a crime to be a female?!
