Europe-based Nigerian producer and musician, Sutflute snagged the honor of Best Hip-Hop Video for year at the African Diasporal Merit Awards (ADMA) Awards that took place in Amstedam (Holland). But this year’s victory for him was different in one significant way, because he had his Birthday the same Day.
Sutflute’s acceptance speech was particularly noteworthy, of course, as he made a point to note that he work hard this years, which most people took to be a direct dig at main competitor of other Africa artistes in Europe.
In an interview after the award show, He said
I always feel it's good for me to show other artistes that they can be in charge of their own life situation... When I win and when I lose, I take ownership of it, because am in charge of what I do in life." In other words
