This is called rigid pavement/concrete technology. It's the standard for constructing some of the roads in Aba. The concept has approved by the Abia State Government under Governor Okezie Ikpeazu. The pictures here show different shots taken from the ongoing Owere Road off Okigwe Road in Aba.

Note; Owerre road off Okiwe Road in Aba is different from Aba Owerri road Aba and Owerri Aba road Aba that leads to Ugwunagbo. Abians please criticise and give suggestions. You reaction and feedback matters

The governor also comes in person to interact with the people on the street so as to know how they feel about the state of things in the state. To the Glory of God,Abians are happy but they have no reason to thank Ikpeazu because Dr Ikpeazu is a servant to us and Us abians are his masters. The righteous is in power, his people are experiencing possitve changes

Good work, but why not use the space between the wall and the gutter and do pedestrian walk way.

Thank you. That is the hallmark of civilized government. We appreciate your focus on pedestrian sidewalks and covered drains. Like someone said earlier, they can use that space between the walls and the slabs to create a nice wide sidewalk. Truly, nothing beats being able to step out of one's property and take a quiet walk on a clean, paved sidewalk without worrying about oncoming vehicles, gutters, sand etc. Not to mention the vastly increased sophistication it grants the locality. It will even encourage people to walk as opposed to driving everywhere - a plus for the environment. It has to be the convention going forward.

third mainland bridge is an express road for heavy duty trucks while this is a simple intracity road. They shouldn't have the same quality, stop hating.

holy shiit..Hating what na..sad
What s wrong if that roads is constructed like an express road for heavy duty trucks? Must another government come back and work on the same road constructed by the previous govt ?

They should do the roads once and for all. So that there won't be anything recurrent expenditure.

Don't you get it.

Why must drainages still uncovered?? Call the attention of ur gov'nor or whoever encharge to these abeg

If you look properly at the side, you'll see some slabs that are there which are being used to cover the drainage. As for planting flowers, that's not a big deal, that will be done.
