Characteristically, individuals have their idiosyncrasies and weak points which must be tolerated if peaceful co-existence is to be achieved. This explains why a lot of couples can not but tolerate their spouses if their marriages are not to hit the rocks. Against this background, Saturday Sun sampled the opinions of some women on what they hate about their husbands.

And as there are different human beings with different characters, their husbands have different flaws. Some can’t cope with these flaws, as some have decided to go on with their marriages as it is for better or for worse.

Mrs. Christiana Okafor, complained bitterly, “I hate everything about him. We've only been married a year and we were together for nearly five years before we got married. And she keeps asking herself, “Why am I still married to him”? She said she realized recently that she absolutely despises him.

He's a slob, self-centred, a liar, arrogant, basically a piece of shit”, said Mrs. Ann Golden from Rivers State. She has lived with her husband for just two years and never had a courtship with her husband. She is confused and wonders, “Where do I go now”? She refused to let out her photograph for this publication for fear of her husband who might abuse her physically.

For Mrs. Joan Oke, what she hates about her husband is that he is very lazy and will push her to her limit before helping with the household and their children. “And in some areas, he doesn't even help at all. I don't want to divorce him because I can't survive on my salary alone. Again, my children adore him”.

“My husband holds conversations with himself in his brain”, said Ifeoma Okonkwo. “This would just be called "thinking to himself" normally. But when he is thinking to himself, he'll add in hand movements as if he's speaking to someone passionately. Or he'll tilt and nod his head. At times I feel he is mad”.
The other thing that drives me crazy is that he snores while sleeping. But anyway, I love him”.

“I wish my husband would complain less, and do something about what he complains about”, said, Tope Ajayi. “He is always complaining about everything. Nothing satisfies him. Again, he likes to hang out not knowing that he is a married man. But then, I still love him because we were childhood friends”.
And for Mrs. Josephine Odey, she wishes her husband smoked less. “He didn't smoke when we met, but when we separated for a short time he started smoking. I guess he picked up that habit. I hate the smell. Now, he only smokes outside. He is trying to quit though especially now that I complain seriously”.

“My darling husband is constantly text messaging his friends back and forth and this takes his attention away from me”, Mrs. Ngozi Ndokwa complained bitterly. She felt so sad that she felt like crying while speaking to Saturday Sun.

Jerrian Bassey is married to a pastor in Chapel of Abundance of The Redeemed Christian Church Of God, Olodi Apapa, Lagos. She is a business woman and they have lived for four years. She said her husband is a very kind and caring man. He is Godfearing and has the qualities that every woman would want in a man, but what he does that gets her irritated is his attitude of leaving the house without telling her. She said her husband also has the attitude of coming late not minding he has a wife who needs his attention at home.

“The most annoying attitude of his that hurts me to the bone is that whenever I cook his favourite, known to him that I prepared his favourite and he receives a call that someone needs his attention, he will rush out of the house without apology or sweet words to calm me”.

Vivian Ede, a business woman, has been married to her husband for close to 10 years. She said though her husband is not rich, she has a happy home. “Ninety per cent of men, I can vow, has flaws but one great thing that hurts me about my husband is his inability to take decision on time. No matter how urgent a matter may be, my husband can never take decision quickly, even when you air your views, opinion or idea, he will keep quiet until he thinks he has arrived at a good idea. It makes me feel like a fool”.

Nonye Okonkwo, also a business woman, said she is blessed with a good and caring husband who adores her like a queen. He serves and carries her like an egg and has lived with him for six years. It has been fun, she said. But despite the love that exits between them, he is not blinded. He is not influenced by their love. So, there is no much you give him that can make him give you that exact amount you demand from him. “Apart from the children’s school fees, my husband cannot give you money. I wish he will read this and be able to change knowing it hurts me. All these notwithstanding I still love him dearly”.

Patricia Chigbo is a student and has been married for three years. She said: “My husband is a gift to me by God. He is Godfearing and good but too kind to a fault. He does not mind helping his enemies even when they use it against him. Whenever I try to caution him, he keeps telling me that God is on his side. I am not saying God is not on his side but the Bible says we should be as wise as a serpent. I caution him out of the experience we have had not that am trying to be wicked. Though I have learnt to live with it knowing it is his nature but I never stopped praying for him”.

Ruth Ayuba is married for three years now. She described her husband as a gentle, kind, caring and a born again Christian. “I do not have problem living with him because he protects me and is always there for me, but one flaw he has that makes me unhappy is that he does not eat well. No matter how good a meal is prepared, he can never eat much and that makes me feel as if I do not know how to cook very well. If only he will read this and start eating as much food as I give him, I will be happy. Let him eat like every other women because I know men eat a lot”.

Chisaokwu Martins is a business woman who has married for close to six years. She said though her husband lives abroad, one thing she remembers about him that makes her mad is that he is addicted to cigarette. “He smokes a lot and it pains me so much”.

You mean these women actually allowed their names to be published along with their complaints? lipsrsealed lipsrsealed
Wonders shall never end. Why are they complaining, they also have their flaws that their husbands are putting up with or are they perfect? Imagine! "I love my husband etc" and they now complained. If i were a man and i saw my wife's name in the paper saying such a thing,i won't even remember the 'nice' things said before the complaints. Nonsense! angry
