Yes and no if the govt was smart enough to give tax incentives to enable individuals empower themselves with solor energy may be, without tax incentive the average man can not purchase it cos it is no doubt very expensive, and those who would have bought it already have the best of the best when it comes to generating sets.

@dinggle it seems u pay tax. You are a good citizen I must confess - no tax for me man untill the big bucks roll in.
The real issue is that when you consider how much you are going to spend, solar power ain't viable for the people who really need it.

its too God damn expensive and it still has more problems attached to it. Its not as maintenance free as its painted to be.

Solar is not really dat expensive if individuals start small. It will be insane for anyone to use solar to power his or her A/C.
One can start with 60-100 solar powered watts to power the basics, tv, radio fan and bulbs. Especially for those who are just graduating for childhood to manhood e.g Students of higher learn. Should ensure they purchase smart electronics. Like radio, tv, bulbs and fan. There are green bulbs in the U.S today that emitts over 100watts light but are powered by 1.3watts. Thts good even in saving electricity bills today only if you have the smart meter install in your house. Also there are smart tv that are powered by 3 AAA batteries. Smart a/c power by a fan and iced silicon raped around the fan so that when the fan blows it emitts cold air for hours just like in an a/c. These are things we should all be looking into by doing this with less than 30k naira one can successfully ignore nepa and continue to a path of solar dependence.

*The bulb below tho expensive uses 1.3 watts of electricity with this bulb your electric bill for powering it in a year is less than N300naira isnt that amazing.
*The fan below uses 'D' batteries and come with smart speakers to play music when power is out.
*The lamp below attracts solar during the day to power its self at night.

We all need to start thinking smart and how to leave the national electric grid to the govt. European countries who have little or no access to the sun are making use of it to power their electronics and it makes us from Africa look dumb!!!

A frozen silicon gel rapped around this fan or your local fan at home gives you cool a/c when it blows, funny aint it. That way you have comfort at home when u come back from a hard day's job and Nepa brings its disappointment to your door step.

I will post pic of the silicon gel soon.

Here below is a 7" smart tv with a 3way powering system, which includes AAA battery
