am so passionate about this Apc led government, they have been so committed in reminding me how I disappointed myself in voting for them. they promised fixing the refineries and now they are failing again.
Bros, it was all a hoax they meddle with the intelligence of nigerians. This govt has no plan to curb waste by presenting a plan to fully reform the power sector so as to revitalise the manufacturing industries. If power is available, the demand for fossil fuel which increases subsidy payment in the first place will be drastically reduced. No plan to issue license for smaller refineries in the face of dwindling oil revenue. What i would have expected from a serious govt is to quickly put the existing refineries into shape for total sale, issue licenses for smallet refineries that would create additional jobs, totally rid the country of subsidy payment and let market forces determine the price instead of dictating the price like a dictartor when we already buy at way higher price.
This govt is becoming a huge disappointment by each misplaced policy.

Also speaking, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr Ibe Kachikwu, who disclosed that with NNPC inclusive, Excess of N1 trillion was paid for fuel subsidy in 2015, with plans to move fuel price from N87 to N97 per litre in 2016 as well as total removal of fuel subsidy next year.

Where is Fashola and Tam David West with their knowledge of PMS pump pricing economics in relation to global fall in crude oil price?

It's not hypocrisy it's called buy-in and trust two things thoroughly lacking in PDP governments. Only a true leader can push difficult and punishing reforms and attract little opposition.
U mean d only reason for the vitriolic opposition to the subsidy removal policy of the former govt was cuz Nigerians dint "buy-in and trust" Gej in 2012?! If I remember vividly dat wasn't d reason the opposition gave at d time. Anyway continu ( in patience's voice)

Is it possible for filling station to sell at N97? The litre of PMS in my area is N135. Hmm! The question is what steps will they takes to make PMS available at every filling stations at control prize?

Seriously, Nigerians shouldn't worry. Free fuel is on the way. Any station that sells above pump price will have its fuel distributed for free. Yet, FG wants to increase their own price. FG dey do panic selling...

Going by subsidy removal with which I support anyway because the rich are getting richer all in the name of helping the poor through subsidy.

Notwithstanding, if the masses will have to sacrifice much for the economy,we must make sure our discussion rights are protected.

We shall not watch and see money hungry senators to change their vehicles with our money,it shall no longer be bussines as usual, I call on everyone no matter your geopolitical zone, either SE,SS,NE,SW,e.t.c. to stand up and defend our Right.

We shall make this government governable and well meaning to Nigerians if we take to the street with boldness to defend our taxes.

I call on any bold, brave, and visionary youths, let us have an association not to beg dirty politicians, not hail them for few naira whereby jeopardizing our future. I Find it hard to believe it when we youth will gather to honor a politician who made us Jobless and still make us feel like a lesser citizens by giving him an award.

Enough of this bold social comments, where are the real youth that wana standup to claim our rights and save our generation.

Why should we vote under terrible sun to have a relief from pains but still continue under the pain after voting.

I believe in the national anthem "Arise oh Compatriot" but we will cease to be compatriots to fraud and broad day devaluation of young Nigerians.

like the leper said "Why Sit we here till we die", let it not be a prophesy of fella coming to pass(Suffering and smiling). Nigerian youth,we can make a change under the confine of the law, can we have youths in each local government throughout the federation that will form an association in order to force government to work.I am not talking of the existing association whose patron is one celebrated thief and looter.

I belong to Nigeria,I want to see hi glory return, our father told us of how they eat free food in the university, how they had cleaners to wash their cloth, how coffee was around corridors of lecture theatre, how they were offered immediate employment with official car,how education was interesting. Such stories looks like a fantasy compared to what is obtainable now.

We finish NYSC at age 25 above they tell us we are not employable because of age as if it was not their greed and frivolities that delay us in tertiary institutions through endless Stokes.

Enough is enough, because of our joblessness we come to blogs to defend thieves, we celebrate them when they buy things with our money, we let them use us as a tribal and religious bigot.

I want youths like me that will say not again!

How exactly would this govt predict prices after subsidy removal? Only the market forces will determine prices. The cabals who own the tank farms will continue to call the shots.

I hope the same sponsors and participants of Occupy 2012 will be on hand to repeat same. The height of hypocrisy is this geographical space called Nigeria is highly shameful.

http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/12/fg-pushes-for-electricity-tariff-increase/

MINISTER of Power, Works and Housing Mr. Babatunde Fashola, said Nigerians should expect increase in electricity tariff in no distant time. This is as he also indicated the Ministry of Petroleum has signified their interest to build certain critical pipelines to transport gas to the power plants that will add another 2,000 mega watts to the national grid within 12-15 months.

According to him, “By far the most complex challenge is the problem of tariff. It is complex because it is more in the hands of citizens than in the hands of Government.

“The role of Government is to set the tariff and in doing so, Government has committed to what is called a Multi-Year Tariff Order. This was done in order to attract investors to the market; otherwise we will not have achieved the privatization if the price of the product is not attractive to the investors.

“The tariff is the price of producing power. It covers cost of generation, gas purchase, transportation, transformers, staff costs and so on, disaggregated and charged per kilowatt/hour to make the business of power profitable.

“What Government did was to spread it over a number of years so that the impact is not felt at once but over a periodic incremental process. I know that it has been a contentious matter, but I make this fervent appeal to consumers to give us the benefit of doubt, to forbear and accept it.

There is no subsidy in the first place, and I don't see any reason why PMS shouldn't be sold for 60 with crude oil being sold for $37/barrel

Sure you are right but when our refineries can't meet domestic consumption. Then we hope and pray that market prices would bring the cost of imported refined fuel to an amount which the common man can afford or better still more investors build refineries in Nigeria.

Where is that Occupy Nigeria group that fought against subsidy removal in 2012?
