FIVE days after the former Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly Hon Victor Olabimtan was abducted, his captors have reduced the ransom placed on him from N20m to N5m.

Dependable source hinted Vanguard that the kidnappers have opened negotiation with the family.
The family members are however ‎said to be pleading with his abductors to accept N2.5m.

Talks according to a member of the family who spoke in confidence would continue Wednesday night when they promised to call the wife.
Olabimtan who was a governorship aspirant under the All Progressives Congress was allowed to speak with his wife today to assure the family that he was in their den and still alive.

Vanguard gathered Olabimtan and the State Chairman of Muslim Welfare Board, Alhaji Abdulrashidi Ajifowowe were kidnapped by unknown gunmen on their way to Abuja from Akure.

Reports had it that they were abducted separately.
Vanguard could not confirm from the family of Anifowose if his abductors have contacted them.
