The re-run election in Adamawa State to fill the Federal Constituencies seats in Numan, Demsa and Lamurde, Northeast Nigeria is in progress despite a Federal High Court order putting it on hold.

The Resident Electoral Officer in charge of Adamawa State Baba Yusuf told Channels Television in Yola the state capital that it is going ahead with the elections because the commission did not get any notice not to conduct the poll.

Accreditation and voting are going on simultaneously amidst reports that the turnout has improved.

Polls in the affected areas were rescheduled following 2015 Appeal Court ruling which nullified the election of Laor Kwamoti of the Social Democratic Party (SDP
