My golf 3 dash board displays a blinking engine oil icon when the ignition is turned on but goes off when the engine starts. Pls what do I do to stop this?

that is am indication of low oil pressure or fault on the oil switch ,this can be due to slugs buildup in your engine ,oil pump issue ,restriction to flow of oil in the engine .
Is better you stop using the car until you able to resolve this issue or you risk changing the engine soon.

Bro, did you read the thread starter's opening post properly??

What low oil pressure? With the engine NOT running, there'll be zero oil pressure. The light goes out once the engine starts, which is normal.

@ Simeon: Do nothing, the oil pressure warning with the ignition switched on, with the engine NOT running is perfectly normal.
