The federal government has abandoned the Enugu - PH express road started by the administration of Gej. This is despite the fact that it is one of the busiest highway in the country and the fact that it is the main road that connects SS AND SE . The past administration completed more than 40 %of the project which is the only major project the south east is getting for 6 yrs .
We expected this administration to at least finish this project to show common sence and prove they are better than the previous one . seeing the budget for the ministry of works it realy shows that indeed there is a gang up against the people of this zone.
Why is there so much hatred for the SE by the yorubas and the north?it is getting too glaring even in this forum, all you See here is total rejection of anything (whether good or bad )that comes from SE. I don't want to include the SS because they are always SS when it comes to oil and are ibos whenever it's time for politics especially during appointment.
Finally, even Amechi who made us believe buhari loves the SS more than the north east could not persuade Apc to finish a road that leads to his state, he's rather working hard to cancel a university in delta state . why can't he emulate Fashola that gave the SW more than half of his ministries budget. It goes a long to tell you how foolish Amechi is that he does not understand the politics of nigeria.

Please did you read Fashola's medium term framework/ plans on how he'll cater for all abandoned road projects around the country or did you just out of boredom decide to criticise the Minister?

criticism is one of the salient feature of democracy so you have to live with it meanwhile Fashola initiated two major projects that was included in this budget but decided to abandon an ongoing project after mobilising the contractors. This is the problem we've been having in this country for decades now,South East has the worst federal road in the country, wait till the rainy season comes and all this roads will become impassable and the pressure on Fashola will increase, common sence should tell him to complete this road than starting so many new projects in the SW and NE

You need to work on your spellings instead of coming out to type gibberish.
Re: Enugu - Ph Express Road Abandoned by Abagworo(m): 9:13pm On Feb 17, 2016
Thats a lie. I rather saw some works done on it between May 2015 and January 2016. I travelled from Port Harcourt to Enugu and again Port Harcourt to Umuahia just 2 weeks ago where snail pace of work was ongoing. Work on the road was never fast.

Politics can make people lie even when glaringly full of mischief. Enugu/Port Harcourt expressway was abandoned by Jonathan throughout his 6 years in power with oil at a point selling over $140 pb but you can only talk nonsense after Buhari's 9 months with oil below $40 pb.

grin grin Looking for trouble with this JAMB question grin grin
If the past GEJ administration that the SE gave 100% support and vote could only complete 40% of the road project in 6yrs, what percent completion do you think the road will get in this new PMB administration that got 5% votes from SE?
You don't sow corn and expect to harvest yam. BUT that is not to say I support neglect of any region. Fashola should behave himself and work equally (as much as possible) in all the regions.

as expected that's the best you can present, starting the blame game, meanwhile Gej awarded the first phase of that project which is more than 80% completed and awarded the second phase at the twilight of his administration and I expected the final phase to be included in this year's budget simple

your right but remember that Gej completed more projects in the north than SS,why can't PMB emulate him at least for a start maybe this cry of marginalisation will reduce a bit. This is because I know what people pass through on that road during rainy season

Fashola was making sense but that road should not be abandoned for a year because of the collateral damage, tanx for the link anyway

The poster of this article should be ashamed of himself that despite the key positions held by Igbo all through the PDP reign they could only have 40 percent of completion. Frustration of their lost was to excite the people all in the name I Biafruad.

I agree with you that it is bad to leave the road unattended to for a year but remeber he has to work with a limited fund. That is why he was considering tolling so that his ministry can be self sufficient and revenue from the tolling can be used by FERMA to maintain the roads.

You're welcome smiley

GEj awarded the contract but how much did he actually release? That is the real issue; awarding 1000 contracts (for political favour) but releasing next to zero funds for their execution, the 2015 budget had virtually zero naira for project execution so the contractors simply abandoned the job a day after.

Hopefully some funds may have been budgeted for the road in this year's budget, but let's wait until we see the complete breakdown of the works budget for 2016 before this wailing continues. I remember sometime in late January, Ekweremmadu complained that only N10billion was budgeted by Fashola for the Enugu-PH road. I understand changes may have been made to the budget figures since then but let's do the right thing by waiting till the authentic breakdown is released before this wailing continues.

My dear it is constructive criticism that is a salient feature of democracy not sheer hatred or everybody hate me syndrome been propagate by you lots. From 1999 till date, has the Lagos-Ibadan express road been completed? Take a trip to Jebba and important road that leads to the north from Kwara State and see for yourself how bad that road is. Then come back and tell me South East has the worst road in Nigeria.

Beside when did you Carry the research that makes you draw such conclusion that the East has the worst road in Nigeria.
