Governor Willie Obiano has described agriculture as the best means to cushion the effect of financial crisis facing the country presently. Governor Obiano made the assertion at the Basilica of the most Holy Trinity Onitsha during a holy mass to mark Christ ' last supper with his disciples.

The event which featured washing of feet of twelve men from among the Laity Basilica parish including Governor Obiano was officiated by the Archbishop and metropolitan of Onitsha Ecclesiastical Province, Most Rev Valerian Okeke.

Earlier at the beginning of the mass, Most Rev Okeke while thanking God for the gift of priesthood and for his blessings to individuals, and the state, prayed God to place Anambra above other States in all spheres of endeavour.

Addressing parishioners at the end of the mass, Governor Obiano announced that Anambra has exported the seventh batch of vegetables to London including bitter leaf and pumpkin leaves, and advised them to intensify efforts aimed at increasing their harvest which will generate more money for them.

Governor Obiano appreciated Onitsha Catholic Archdiocese for their unflinching support to his administration soliciting their support to APGA led administration which has brought a lot of development to the state.

In a homily, the chaplain Nigerian prisons Onitsha Rev Fr Pius Nwankwo said washing of feet of disciples is about service to humanity and called on Christians to see humility and service as a road to greatness and stressed the need for people to render helpless service irrespective of who is involved.
The event climaxed with benediction led by Archbishop Okeke.
