Manu Garba impressed with Golden Eaglets midfield pre-U17 WAFU B, identifies three positions to fortify

"For the midfield it will be difficult for any player to displace some of the boys playing in midfield at the moment."

Which kind of nonsense talk is this? Have you screened to know if they are better talents than them? I hate the mindset of no one is better without seeing others. Biko, who drew up the list?

Exactly part of what I was afraid of. because of time limits, he won't look at or properly access other talents that could add to the team. He is gon a miss out on top talents that can make this team stronger if he takes this approach. But again, time will tell.

Club Brugge, the top Belgian team who gave the breakthrough to the likes of Daniel Amokachi and David Okereke, are now hot on the heels of South Africa-based striker Etiosa Ighodaro.

All the delay about appointing a new coach for the SE is as a result of corruption
The NFF officials are looking for who can accept their deal which will include them in the pay packet
The reason they always want a foreign coach not a Nigerian that knows the drill and can burst them anyday
The only problem with SE and football growth in Nigeria is the NFF

History-making coach joins Manu to lift Golden Eaglets

Olumide Ajibolade, who made history by leading Beyond Limits to win the Viareggio Cup in Italy recently, has resumed training with the Golden Eaglets as one of the assistants to Manu Garba.

Beyond Limits, the academy of NPFL club Remo Stars, made history in Italy recently when they became the first African team to win the Viareggio Cup.

The coach also won the Ogun State FA Cup and four straight The Creative Championship (TCC).

Meanwhile, Bello Garba Gusau is back as the co-ordinator of the Golden Eaglets.

Most sound in understanding the modern game. What was Arteta's CV before Arsenal? Guardiola's assistant.

It is about the most knowledgeable to pass it to our players.
If na tiki taka he wants to come and coach our players, let him not be appointed. I cannot afford to see the last oasis of football I hold on to be swamped by the virus of tiki taka

Eye sore because they did not play tiki taka. Oya naww. Dem don knack una out.

I need to come in here because I have been reading your arguments towards modern and football of old.
You are pro football and want good football, but you prefer modern footballers over footballers of old? Does modern footballers play good football?
Do you only watch matches at all or you just watch important matches and use stats afterwards to judge?
See, I have an extra view DStv at home and a single view in my office and most times only football piques my interest. There are no matches that are shown on supersport channels, including ESPN. From the EPL to Championship, to La liga, to Seria A and most times, ESPN shows Eredivisie or Belgium league, they also Shows Scottish League but few times... I do watch all of these matches lives, as they are played on TV.
Modern football and footballers are trash, majority of them have zero football talent. They are very less talented but only trained to play the supposedly beautiful game. All modern football and footballers are known for are pass, pass, pass, run, run, cross, cross, and head, or sometimes, shoot and it's a goal. As good as Bellingham is at Madrid right now, he won't make a starting 11 of the same Madrid midfield of old that has Zidane, Beckham, Guti, even Solari.
Or you want to talk about modern EPL defenders that you will be running at with the ball, they won't stand and face you, rather they would be running back and when you gets to their 18 yard box, they will slide you and that's a penalty. Are these the defenders you rate over defenders of old?
Thank you Bro. They play it because they are trained to play it. With today's football, you don't need much natural talent. Any child can play football now if he's trained and he has determination.

If we had won I would have been happy because we played amazingly well. Not park bus thrash. Secondly, I am talking about yesterday's game, not their trophy years.

Finito.
I don't like park the bus football but whenever it is used as a hammer to destroy tiki taka, it always gives me joy.

Soyinka often says that let nations perish so that humanity may live

I say let tiki taka perish so that football may live. Tiki taka should take its suffocating hold off football. Let football breaaaatheee

Modern football ia trash. Gradually I am losing interest in football, coz I am tired of being bored with passes up and down. At times, I do go on youtube to watch clips of Delima, Jay Jay, Dinho and co to remind myself - there was a game called football.

Football ought to be an Art, but its now a Science. 1 + 1 must be 2. Bruno F. of Manchester United would play rubbish for full 90mins, but coz he had a goal or an assist, stats would make him star of the match.

Fvck the stats cos its killing football as well. Wingers can no longer beat defenders, small threat, they would pass back to defenders. Midfielders can no longer run with the ball or skillfully evading their opponents.

They should let football rest peacefully and rename the sport Tikiball.

Haaaa na real tikiball. They say football died in 1982. I guess what we are witnessing is the burial.

Watching clips of Zidane and the rest of his generation is my hobby. I use it to remind myself that football used to be jogo bonito

I pray managers who rebel against this choking football come and rescue the game.

Best moments of Super Eagles were when we played jogo bonito. We were known for entertaining the spectators while still dominating the opponent.

Eagles of old days would outplay the opponent with scintillating skills. You would see fans joyfully shouting; eh! eh!! eh!!!, even while watching on TVs. Every Kid wanted to be Okocha, Maradona back then.

Football is deád.

He saying it would be DIFFICULT doesn't mean there are no chances of other midfielders breaking in.
Mind you, this is Manu Garba talking about his U17 team and not just one novice U17 coach.

After being part of several U17 teams I want to believe he already knows the standards expected of every player in every position. He may also be speaking based on timing.

Let's just watch patiently to see the caliber of Players he will churn out of his factory this time.
