sorry i havnt been to nigeria in almost 10yrs so pretty lost. what kind of business do you think is good down there because am hopefully coming down this year sometime so wandering what could be done there
i got my house already there but wouldnt mind a large acre of land somewhere around abuja road. what are the prices of land going for? how are people buying cars there?

Mr Bayo i am sorry i had to respond very late to your inquiry. i will say the development level in Kogi is moving gradually and in a steady fast pace, especially with the siting of the cement industry and the abundant solid mineral deposit in the state.

There are lots of business you can do in the state it all depends on how much u are ready to invest. Business opportunities ranges from haulage, mining etc. when i no what ur budget is i can effectively advice. i can assure u that what ever u decide to do, all u need do is good marketing.

i dont no much about car business i asked a friend and he said its not to good in kogi and cars are generally sold on demand.

where along abuja- lokoja road are u referring?

thanks, good thinking. The plots are located at Otokiti Village, along the lokoja military barracks road. there are over 50 hectares available for sale.

you can invest in cybercafe, if religion permits sales of alcohol, it sales like wild fire in the city, you can invest in quarry and a very good and standard laundry will do very well. but the success of all this business is based on the kind of management. especially for cybercafe, most of them have failed in the town because of poor management and bad ISP, presently in lokoja there are no standard and effectively functioning internet cafes.

i will advice you go solo and concentrate on real estate in Lokoja,As regard the Cyber cafe, i know one that was open by a londoner with about 25 pc Flat screen and Cband vsat equipments(Net2G) that is the name of the cafe it died under a year.

I am from kogi and i reside in Lokoja town.
Am actually surprise at the turn of events in Lokoja in the last 2-3 years in the area of property appreciation.
i have seen people sold property that where bought for N2000 naira in the 80's being sold for btw N18million to N35miilion in lokoja.So many things are fueling this astronomical price increase, like the Obajana Cement factory( the biggest in africa when phases 3&4 are finally completed), the River niger dredging which has commenced, the Lokoja seaport under construction and host of other things.I was born in this town so am really surprise at the turn of events.My coursin rented a three bedroom apartment that use to cost N80 per month in 90's, Now he pays N300,000 for the same apartment, the house in question is own by a family friend.
You can't go wrong in real estate biz now in lokoja and Eatry,Eatry sells like wild fire, The area in currently being invaded by investors from Edo state, they are making a kill in it .But i will cost you good money to get land along the lokoja Abuja express way to setup same.

I am sure nxt ttime you in lokoja and visit otokiti village u will be suprise the level of development. estates and shopping plaza are no see every nook and crannies of the once isolated village. i am a friend of the otokities too.

What you need is enough money to buy a 100 trucks then you can buy wholesale.Btw 80-90 million depending on the price which fluctuates all the time.The profit margin is low though but the turn over is excellent.there are subdealers waiting (literally) for you.You will be issued with like a ticket any driver that presents it will be loaded.If you need more details just ask.

In most businesses as usual the retailers who sell direct to consumers make highest gains.its practically impossible for a whole saler to gain N30 perbag its usually N5 or N10 at most.but he has the upper hand with large capital so he is still the winner.

I dont know about Lokoja in General but Obajana i know the demand is unlimited.Besides you get the advantage of getting jobs not faraway states in the north instead of going to Lagos which takes toll on the trucks.though Obajana to northern states the price is lower but if you look at the ratio of the diffrence in cost vis a vis the the task of going far to southern states to get loads Obajana is the best deal you can get.

Its ridiculous how changes occur this days. wellfor Lokoja, son the virus that engulfed Abuja will soon infect that town too. remember Lokoja was the first town in Nigeria where pure water was sold at 10 naira. that apart, please can you give the exact price for the plots of land around the army facility. be straight to the point. i noticed you are such a smart Nigerian who knows how to sell his stock. obajana, dredging and all wot not.well flaunt your skills.its gud. lethave the price.also where to get land for like 300-500k. as per nataco,u failed to say exactly what is the price there now. make research and come up again my friend.happy nu year!
