It's very unfortunate that Nigerians are acting unlearned. Having read to the 3rd page, I realized no one noticed d headline was misleading and totally different from the story. Everyone is just busy bashing the FG on removing subsidy.
The govt has always said it works with price modulation; whatever it saved from selling petrol above the Estimated Open Market Price, it keeps in an escrow account to use it for subsidy when oil price/petrol price rises.
I've noticed that Vanguard has set out to mislead gullible Nigerians who don't read enough to comprehend. What a shame!

Good point.

bros i think it will make economic sense having a car which uses diesel as a stand by ride at home.
Yes, I am currently researching on one. Even though I havent been so far affected by the scarcity due to my connects but I hate to even rely on connections to get what is scarce, its unfair to the system, cos I cant be the only one driving while others are suffering. I think Nigerians should find alternatives to cut off their demands on petrol. When the demand is down, the supply yanga will stop.

d way these guys dey confuse their followers is alarming.
tomorrow we r subsidizing cos of the differences In the landing cos and the pump price, next tomorrow we hv saved 10trillion from fuel imports thru price modulation, next week thr is nothing like fuel subsidy, what we r seeing is corruption fighting back thru cabals that pdp left in this sector after their defeat.
na zombies I pity pass cos when u dont hv brains n people u follow r confusing u harder everyday, u can help again.

Gej didnt have any foresight. How can u remove subsidy when there are no structures on ground, comatose refineries and pms was selling at an all time high in international market. That doesnt make sense. Govt is able to remove it now because concerted efforts have been made to provide enabling structures.

Ogbe ni can you please list those concerted efforts and structures that are on ground now?

This was exactly what I thought when I saw the news on Nairaland fp.

I wonder who these people spreading these fake news are. The gang-up by a section of the media against this government is just appalling.

oga mi firstly price modulation in a no subsidy regime is another form of corruption.
we cant be talking no subsidy on fuel and d govt still decide at what price the marketers will sell their products.
yes they r trying toprotecting the people but indirectly they r causing untold hardship to nigerians.
investors cant invest when the govt still control d pump price.

.....and are the infrastructures now on ground? Are our refineries working above 10% of the installed capacity? Why is that no fuel for too long now?
Nigeria will never move forward if we fail to address this double standard, campaign of calumny and cheap propaganda. We wld forgotten about this menace called subsidy if APC had supported GEJ in its removal since 2012.
