Hi Guys,
I registered my company in 8th June,2001 using a lawyer somewhere in Lagos.I was given the CAC certificate with no BN: LAZ.108133 alone.
Now my business is just picking up and i want to open a business account with ETB but was asked to produce Form2(Form of application for registration of business name) and Form6(Letter of registration of business name).I can not locate the said lawyer again.
Can someone in the house assist me?

The registration done for you then was not for a limited Liability company either by shares or guarantee but a venture or business enterprise in which if you are the only registered owner the sole proprietor and if with others partner in the partnership business.

With a venture or business enterprise registration you will be given a number which is preceeded with BN and if a registered ltd liability company will be preceeded with RC.

However, you can open a corporate account with the two types of registration. Sometimes the bankers are funny but you can talk to someone else if your current account officer is asking for what is not available or go to another bank depending on you.

I just hope the lawyer has not collected money for the service he has not rendered.

I hope your name did not defraud you back then. Funny enough you can't trace him now. Anyways i should be able to help with that, (as am a lawyer) the first step is conduct what we call a search to confirm.
the status of your hitherto registeration. Then a few administrative steps will follow.
