dis one be like the actions of a police force of a banana republic. how dem go arrest people because dem fear say the people go become violent? our police don turn to rascals and dem go even shoot at will and nothing go do dem.

Me I say all of them na cowards, if dem  want real criminals make dem start with all de former heads of states wey tief money with impunity and de ex-governors. those ones don commit crimes already.

I sure say the Police oga wey dey in charge of this senseless detention don chop 50% of de money wey dem budget to house these 4,000 people.

LAGOS, Nigeria (CNN) — Police in northern Nigeria on Saturday detained almost 4,000 members of an Islamic community, claiming that the group posed a potential violent threat, the police commissioner in the Nigerian state of Niger told CNN.

Commissioner Michael Zuokumor said that 3,950 people who belong to an Islamic sectarian group called Darul Islam were “evacuated” from their main camp in a town called Mokwa.

The Darul Islam members were being detained inside a local school building, Zuokumor said. The detention continued into Sunday.

The police raid was “based on a fear of them becoming violent,” he said.

It was unclear whether any formal charges would be brought against the group.
