ANAMBRA State Governor, Willie Obiano has pledged to offset hospital bills of some Biafra agitators who were injured during the celebration of the 49th anniversary of the declaration of Biafra.

The governor also called for calm over the crisis rocking Nkpor community.

Obiano made the pledge at Nkpor town hall when he came to sympathise with the people of Nkpor on the bloody clash between security operatives and Biafra agitators in which about 50 members were reportedly massacred and scores injured.

“We have compiled the list of the injured in different hospitals where they are hospitalised.”

The governor urged Nkpor people to always ward off undesirable elements who come into the community to tarnish their image.

“I came to sympathise with you for what happened. Before I came in as the governor, people were not sleeping, but now we sleep. Don’t allow strangers to disturb Nkpor.”

Obiano recalled how he deployed diplomacy to evacuate Boko Haram suspects brought into Ekwulobia Prisons and also gave befitting burial to Biafra war heroes.

Since he is paying the hospital bills of those injured, it means that the military actions were wrong and unlawful. In that case, what will happen to those that were shot dead?

Start by bringing those military officers to book.

I tried analyzing the indifference of some governors at times when their voice and position were needed to halt certain incidents, then it struck me; State of Emeregency!

That's their fear cuz a governor becomes as toothless as a day old child once the CENTER decides he's not fit to secure his state, so what do they do? Sit back and watch and either citizens are killed while in their sleep, cry, or go to pay the bills of persons you term as '
miscreants'

That they Fulani herdsmen still falls under civil law and order thus no military action against them but protest as enshrined in the constitution is now a matter of national security bordering on the defense of the country against?

When they were being pulled up from the hospitals where was he? I think he should visit the army barracks on Onitsha and start paying the bills from there.

I rest my case o.
