hello guys, stop misinterpreting the word of God, the bible does not realy mean you cutting off the parts of your body inorder to see the kingdom of God.
God is not a wicked one that He should be looking for a way to destroy our parts. We are his temple, He dwells in us and reigns in us.If we cut off our body that is the temple of God it means we want to prevent the presence of God in our body. Just as the soul lives in the body. If the body is cut off or is ill, then the soul becomes like a skillful musician with a faulty instrument.
That bible phrase is a proverb ''cut it off''. It means whatever we prevent you from doing the will of God prevent it or stay away from it.

Christians in many decades past haven't been doing all that you suggested in your first post. Christians presently aren't doing it. All of a sudden, an atheist pops out of the blues and starts telling us what to do. Do you analyze your thoughts before you put them down in writing?

You're suggesting that Christians since all these years didn't understand the Bible, but now you, an atheist, does. More power to your elbow.

hello fellis, i didn't say that the whole sentence Jesus made there is a proverb but the exact word ''plug it out'' or ''[cut it off'' is a proverb just like he also made this proverb that He would destroy the temple and then rebuild it in three days.
Allow the spirit of God to interpret the bible 4 u and stop interpreting it in your own words.

I think christians are confused(mad) people the part of the bible that favours them they take it literal the part that is absurd they take it as parable.

hi. What I meant was that Jesus Christ was not recorded to have said the 'pluck' or 'cut off' part was proverbial. He might have meant it literally, don't you think?
And you said I should let the spirit of God interprete the verses for me. . . .interesting.
How do I go about doing that?
