4 Natural Enhancers To Grow Your Hair by MyHairGrowthLag: 11:48am On Jul 09, 2016
Here are 4 popular natural growth enhancers and why they can help you to grow your hair.

A lot of time when we think of hair growth oil, Castor Oil springs to mind but ladies I am here to challenge you. “Castor Oil is a small fish in a big pond”. There are so many many many mannnnnnnnyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy hair growth oils out there. Do not limit yourself to just Castor Oil.

So now that that’s out of my system. I would like to cover Lemongrass, Peppermint, Coconut Oil and Centella.

Before we begin, I need to help you understand why Lemongrass, Peppermint, Coconut Oil and Centella can help you to grow your hair.

1. Lemongrass is my personal favourite because I love the fragrance; it smells so fresh and homely. When I was younger I remember we used to cut fresh lemongrass, boil and drink it. I have also learnt that Lemongrass is great in relieving headaches and reducing menstrual cramps. Try drinking two cups of Lemongrass tea when you have your period to reduce the pain. Little did I know that Lemongrass is also good for growing your hair.

Lemongrass is great for hair growth because it can help to strengthen your hair follicles and keep your scalp healthy. So if you are struggling with weak or thinning hair Lemongrass is for you.

2. Peppermint is a plant, a cross between water mint and spearmint. It has antiinflammatory and antiseptic properties, and it soothes an itchy scalp and helps to reduce dandruff.

The best thing about Peppermint is that it helps to stimulate your hair follicles, which promotes new hair growth. It will also help to improve your scalp health, by increasing blood flow and healthy blood circulation.

3. Coconut Oil is extracted from the meat of the Coconut. It has a high concentration of saturated fatty acids, lauric acid, capric acid and vitamins E and K. Coconut Oil is important for maintaining the health of your hair and is not just for hair growth. It is
the 101 for girls with natural hair.

Coconut Oil is very important for natural hair because our hair doesn’t hold on to moisture, which is why it’s always dry. Coconut Oil penetrates deeply into our hair shaft and locks in the moisture. This is why Coconut Oil is important for the ends of your hair and helps to prevent split ends. If you want it to grow your hair you need to rub it on your scalp. But if you use it on a regular basis on your scalp remember to wash your hair regularly otherwise your scalp will become clogged with oil, which could prevent hair growth.

Please be aware that buying genuine Coconut Oil is incredibly difficult in Nigeria so you may need to make Coconut Oil by yourself or buy the imported ones from a shop or from an online store, which is expensive. A lot of the Coconut Oil that is sold in Nigeria is pre-mixed with another oil or highly processed, which loses majority of its nutrients. I struggle to find legitimate Coconut Oil so I think I may consider making by own oil in the future for personal use.

4. Centella I am sure you haven’t heard of Centella. It is a perennial herb popularly known as Gotu Kola, it is harvested and used for medicinal purposes. The healing properties of Centella Asiatica have been known for centuries. It is mainly used in China and India.

They claim that when you ingest it, it helps your blood vessels to relax and helps to stimulate hair by delivering an increased flow of oxygenated blood to the hair follicles. Although there are no scientific studies to prove this, a study released in the International Journal of Pharmacy concluded that Gotu kola extract improved the hair length and density in rats. Well if it worked for the rats, I am sure it can work for us lol.

Thanks for reading this, I hope you like it, if you do just drop a comment below.

I teach people how to make their own hair growth oils. It is an online class so regardless of where you are you can watch the tutorial.

Lots of love
