It is true that the Bible does not specifically mention betting/gambling as something which offends God, neither does it say it is something that pleases God. However, to avoid confusion in matters like this, we have to examine the principles behind gambling before we can conclude on whether it is right or wrong.

First of all, gambling is a waste of money. According to available statistics, a gambler is much more likely to lose money than to win it from betting. Joachim Haeusler, a manager at Bwin (one of the largest betting companies in the world) once said that people shouldn't gamble based on the hope of getting rich, because they won’t!

The worst thing about betting is that when you lose, you will want to place another bet in an attempt to regain the bets you have lost. And even when you win, you will still want to put the money back into betting, to make more money and then you lose it in the end!
It is God who blessed you with the money you currently have (James 1:17) and He expects you to spend it wisely.
If you must give money away, God prefers that it is given to the poor and the less-privileged (Proverbs 19:17) and for the propagation of the Gospel (Hebrews 6:10). If He cannot trust you to wisely handle the money you currently have, you certainly should not expect to get more from Him! (Matt 25:14-30). Stop donating money to the betting company, who do no other work apart from manipulating your human greed and naiveté to their advantage!

Most of the time, gambling is a result of laziness. We don’t want to patiently work hard and exercise our faith to get the money we need so we spend the little cash we have on guesswork, with the hope of hitting large sums of money at once! God hates laziness (Proverbs 6:6) and without faith, we can never please Him (Hebrews 11:6).
However, some people go into gambling in crisis situations when there is an urgent need for money. But that is no excuse! If you really need money, why not engage in Kingdom practices like paying your tithes (Malachi 3:10), sowing of financial seeds into God’s work (Hebrews 6:10), helping the needy as much as you can (Proverbs 28:27) and working hard (Proverbs 22:29) as you trust totally in God Word (Psalms 1:2-3).

Remember, Jesus came as a poor man so that you can be rich (2 Corinthians 8:9) but you have to do things His way. God bless you!

Gambling is allow naw.

The first gambler according to Bible is God. You remember the story of Job right, yep! The gamble between God and satan was legendary, which lead to the lost of lives of numerous animals, jobs servants and his children who have nothing to do with the bet but were place as a wager.
