For those who have business to do with receiving money from foreign countries, Western Union has always been the name to trust but recently i found out that using WU is crap!

I felt utterly gutted when i calculated the huge amount of money i had lost in exchange rates receiving money through WU and i felt i must share with fellow Nairalanders.

Find pictures below of the exchange rates for three money transfer platforms (Azimo, MoneyGram and Western Union) for 1,000 GB Pounds to be sent to Nigeria. Receiving money with WU sets you back at over N80,000 as compared to Azimo and MoneyGram.

Here are a few pros of all the transfer platforms:

Azimo- The money is sent directly to your Nigerian bank account within minutes. You also pay no sending fee.

MoneyGram- Its sending fees are the lowest in the industry, you can pay just about 26 GB Pounds to send 1,000 GB Pounds to Nigeria.

Western Union- You can receive your money from the comfort of your phone/computer. You just log into QuickTeller website and input your WU details and bank details and the money is deposited in your account, you don't need to go to the bank anymore, except you just wanna go there so you can impress that beautiful teller lady you are asking out at the bank grin

That said, Western Union is the least platfrom to consider anymore if you wanna receive money from foreign countries.
