‎Who is against MMM?

In a world as cruel and competitive as this, with an unthinkable gap between the rich and the poor, one cannot but subscribe to the saying of the famous philosopher and economist Karl Marx, that “it is never in the agenda of the oppressor to liberate the oppressed”.

In the light of the above, personally, I am always dazed to see this philosophical maxim coming to fore everywhere and anytime I decided to examine Nigeria.

As of now, while the Federal Government of Nigeria and the Nigerian mass media are hell-bent and determined to see the very end of MMM, a scheme that promised and seek to restore social equality and guarantee financial freedom, I beg to know what is wrong with MMM and rationale behind the mass campaign against it especially in the country where nothing is working in favour of the common man.

I share in the pains of Sergey Mavrodi, MMM founder,  who in his recent letter to Nigerian journalists,  decried, “stop using MMM to gain cheap popularity”. Against this backdrop, I also agree with Nicolo Machiavelli and other realists that man is by nature selfish and brutal being who prefer to make more money to his purse than the survival of his fellow man.

Given the fetish claims of Nigerian authorities, including CBN and other banks with the allegations that the ponzi scheme is a scam, coupled with a claim that it has failed in Russia, I'm left with no choice but to ask why the big wings are against MMM.‎

On the present break and development in MMM, it is my belief that there's no endeavour in this life that doesn’t have it challenges and setbacks.  In the world of business it becomes necessary to note that one need not bow to mistakes but to continually see it as a stepping stone to greater height. Thus, from a very divergent view, to those who harp on that MMM is a scam,  I say what are these schemes or so-called programs as their case may be: the 65naira charges on every withdrawal from other banks, the football prediction site, Premier lotto (baba ijebu), and finally the monthly debit alert I get from First Bank instead of credit?

‎Unlike MMM, the named various trending tools of exploitation has been left untarnished just because it is amied at marginalization and exploitation of the oppressed by the oppressor.  Instead the scheme that offers hope of financial freedom has been met with much hatred by the government and it's allies‎.

Let the wise blame MMM participants not. ‎After all, it is only cowards that run away from opportunities no matter the danger it pose at the end. The huge involvement of middle class people down the line is an indication that Nigeria is faulty. Evidently, to unemployed graduates and underpaid workers among others, MMM is a life saving scheme and a source of income. It pays more than the FG and state government combined together.

Here, I wish to clearly state that MMM remains the only working  scheme that offers many people hope regardless of their social status and ‎based on their contributions. ‎And to the participants, you're all urged to abide by the tenets of the community. Use your spare money. Not your life savings but never stop taking risk, don't give in to fear and panic. The delay in MMM activities is not denial.

MMM will bounce back and better. Until then, let the soothsayers be careful and prevail on the government to wake up to its responsibilities and step up its game. Nigerians are not lazy. MMM participants are not greedy. They are rational beings too. If you think otherwise, then show me an emeny of MMM and I will show you a foolish analyst with zero reasoning ability and little knowledge of human nature.

Thank you

Ayodeji Kehinde
