RHAPSODY OF REALITIES SATURDAY, 21ST JANUARY Respond To The Word We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak (2 Corinthians 4:13). God wants us to believe and live His Word. He wants us to use the Word, to take His Word and speak it. He didn't only give us His Word to quote, memorize or recite; He gave us His Word so we can respond to it accordingly. You have to agree with the Word, and speak it forth; that's what produces result. Consider the glorious words of the Psalmist penned for us in Psalm 23:1-4: "The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me." Here, we find David affirming God's Word, making his personal faith-proclamations on the basis of God's Word. There's no need griping over lack, your seeming inabilities, or lack of strength; there's no need to be afraid or intimidated by the oppositions you face! There's no need to faint or lose heart over anything! Affirm the Word. Take the Word of God and speak it! Declare, "I'm being led in the paths of righteousness. I'm walking in the glory of God and fulfilling my destiny of greatness in Him!" Don't say, "Lord, deliver me from evil"; rather, like David, say, "I fear no evil!" That means no matter the evil or adversities, you're triumphant over them, because greater is Respond To The Word SATURDAY 21 He that's in you than he that's in the world (I John 4:4). Christ is in you (Colossians 1:27); and that means glory, fulfillment, joy, progress, and transcendental blessings in your life. But you see, it's not going to happen just because you're a Christian; you must affirm it. When life looks like there's darkness, and things look bleak, don't despair; take the Word and speak it. Declare, "Christ is in me; therefore, I'll only and always be triumphant!" Whatever God says to you is for your benefit, and requires the right response. So, respond by affirming what He's already said concerning you in His Word. CONFESSION The Word of God in my mouth is God talking! As I take and speak the Word, my life is impacted and transformed into what the Word says, making me a living and walking epistle of Christ. Men see and take note of me that Christ is in me; as He is, so am I in this world. Hallelujah! RHAPSODY OF REALITIES, WEDNESDAY 25TH JANUARY Poverty Is Not For you For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich (2 Corinthians 8:9). After you're born again, poverty becomes completely unacceptable in your life. I know there're people who believe Christians ought to be poor, but that's due to their lack of understanding of the Scriptures. Poverty is not the absence of money, or other required necessities of life; it's actually the disabling of a man's mental prowess. It's that state where a person's mind shuts down, and that person believes that he or she can't do anything to change his state. But that's not the case with the one who's born again and lives by the Word; it's impossible for such a person to walk in penury. The Christian is an heir of God, and a joint-heir with Christ. All the wealth in this world belongs to you if you're born again. Once you accept this truth in your spirit, and allow it dominate your thinking, it'll give you a new mind-set. It'll be impossible for you to walk in lack. The Bible says Jesus became poor so that we, through His poverty, might become rich (2 Corinthians 8:9). He took upon Himself, not only the sins of the world, but also the effects of sin, one of which is poverty. This is the reason every Christian must reject poverty. Nevertheless, poverty by choice, or deprivation by persecution is acceptable. A Christian may walk poor, and live poor because of ignorance, but he's not poor, for he actually has an inheritance in Christ. 1 Corinthians 3:21 says,..."all things are yours." Therefore, refuse and reject the down life; don't live as a victim. Get to the Word and become knowledgeable about your untold wealth in Christ. God said, "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge..." (Hosea 4:6). Refuse to walk in ignorance, but in the knowledge of your inheritance in Christ. PRAYER Dear Father, you're gracious and kind. I thank you for making me a joint-heir with Christ; the world belongs to me. All things are mine, and nothing good is withheld from me. I dwell in the realm of superabundance, where I'm graciously supplied with every good thing. My life is a manifestation of your love and grace; thank you, Lord, in Jesus' Name. Amen. RHAPSODY OF REALITIES, THURSDAY 26TH JANUARY 2017 Beyond An Awareness These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God (1 John 5:13). In our opening Scripture, the Apostle John writes to believers; those who’re already in Christ; who already believe in God. He wasn’t writing to non-Christians. He says to them, “I want you to know that you have eternal life.” The word “know” is translated from the Greek “Eido,” which means to notice, observe, or become aware; it’s knowledge with awareness. There’re three other major words in the Greek language for knowledge, although the English language uses the word “know” or “knowledge” to classify all of them. However, they’re not all the same; they mean different things. These three Greek words are, “Ginosko,” “Gnosis,” and “Epignosis.” Ginosko is revelation knowledge. For example, Ephesians 3:19 says, “And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge….” “Know” in the foregoing scripture is Ginosko, while “knowledge” is “Gnosis.” “Gnosis is scientific knowledge; knowledge gained by mental activity. The third and highest kind of knowledge is “Epignosis.” This kind of knowledge brings the knower into a relationship with that which is known, and that’s the one that really changes your life. Imagine that someone told you that you have a gift coming to you. When it arrives and you get acquainted with it, that’s “Ginosko.” When you unwrap the gift and become aware of what it is, that’s “Eido,” because you’ve now made the observation, but you haven’t started relating with it. When you take out the gift and start relating with it, using and enjoying it as it were, you’re into a relationship with the gift; that’s “Epignosis.” So, in Christianity, it’s not enough to be merely aware that you’re a Christian and you have eternal life. That knowledge should be a vital reality in your spirit; something you relate with, live in, and enjoy in the now! That knowledge should be a vital force that controls your thinking and actions. This is where meditating on the Word is vital; it brings you into that consciousness and oneness with the truth that you know in the Word. Hallelujah! CONFESSION I’m a member of the body of Christ, of His flesh, and of His bones. The eternal life of God is at work in every fibre of my being, every bone of my body, and every cell of my blood. I’m consciously aware of, and relate with the knowledge that Christ is in me; therefore, I’m unshakable and indestructible. My life is a manifestation of the glory and nature of Christ. Blessed be God! RHAPSODY OF REALITIES, SUNDAY 29TH JANUARY 2017 You Have The Authority Of Jesus And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen (Matthew 28:18-20). In our opening scripture, Jesus tells His disciples that all power (authority) in heaven and on earth has been given to Him. Philippians 2:9-10 says, “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth.” The Father gave all authority to Jesus. It wasn’t all the presidents of the world that came together and vested all authority on Jesus; it wasn’t done by democracy; it was God’s sovereign discretion. He alone could do such a thing. Now, Jesus says to us, the believing ones, “On the basis of the authority given to me by the Father, I commission you to go preach the Gospel and teach all nations.” He delegated His authority to the Church, to go make pupils and students of the nations of the world; to teach them how to live. Your authority in Christ is perfect and absolute. No evil, demon, or darkness can resist it as you preach the Gospel with boldness everywhere. Mark 16:17-18 says, “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.” This is a sovereign declaration of deity. It’s a law in the realm of the spirit. When you speak in the Name of Jesus, it’s as though Jesus Himself were speaking. Therefore, do all things in His Name; live in the authority of His Name. Refuse to allow the devil run rampage in your environment; use your authority in Christ against the devil and he’ll have no choice but to flee. Hallelujah! PRAYER Dear Father, I thank you for the privilege and authority to use the Name of Jesus; the Name that is above all names. At the Name of Jesus, demons tremble, chains are broken, doors are open, and mountains crumble. And in the power and authority of that Name, I go forth today in victory, reigning and ruling over circumstances, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. RHAPSODY OF REALITIES, TUESDAY 31ST JANUARY 2017 Receive Your Supply For Today Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah (Psalm 68:19). In Matthew Chapter 6, Jesus gave His disciples a format on how to pray, and in verse 11, He said, “Give us this day our daily bread.” When He taught them this format of prayer, He hadn’t died on the cross; the New Testament hadn’t started, because a will doesn’t come into existence until the death of the testator. After the death of Jesus Christ, the New Testament was sealed; meaning that every provision from His will had become legal; you could now take advantage of it. Jesus’ teaching in that prayer does suggest that every day, in the mind of God, there’s a blessing for you; there’s more than enough supply for you every day. Ever since you were born again and you received Christ, there’s been a daily supply for you; that’s what “daily bread” means; the Master wasn’t talking about a loaf of bread. That means you probably have a pile of unused supplies with God; supplies and benefits from God that you never took advantage of. Read our opening verse again; it says He daily loads us with benefits; meaning that aside from the supply, there’re also benefits; extras. God isn’t just into provision, He’s into supply as well; He’s not just providing what you need, He supplies them, which means there’s a constant flow, and the reason for the flow is for you to have more than enough for yourself, and to help others. There’s an accumulation of wealth for you, and just because you didn’t know doesn’t mean you have forfeited it. So, every day in God’s plan—in His structure of things—you have a supply, an amount set aside for you to spend and use. Make a demand for it. Receive your supply for today. Hallelujah! PRAYER Dear Father, I thank you for the supply-system you’ve set in motion on my behalf; I can never be broke; you’ve blessed me lavishly and supplied all my needs. My heart’s desires are granted me as I delight myself in you. Even now, I receive my supply for today; thank you, blessed Lord, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. RHAPSODY OF REALITIES, SATURDAY 4TH FEBRUARY 2017 A Mentality Of Prosperity And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not wholly reap the corners of thy field, neither shalt thou gather the gleanings of thy harvest. And thou shalt not glean thy vineyard, neither shalt thou gather every grape of thy vineyard; thou shalt leave them for the poor and stranger… (Leviticus 19:9-10). In the above scripture, God was giving some instructions to the children of Israel on what they should do when they harvest their grains. He said to them, “..Thou shalt not wholly reap the corners of thy field, neither shalt thou gather the gleanings of thy harvest.” In other words, “Don’t harvest everything; don’t gather the gleanings.” He didn’t want them scratching for the leftovers; and it was a law. They were to leave some in the field, for the poor, the fatherless, and the widows. There’re people who don’t know why they haven’t made much progress in their lives. Some of them have prayed and prayed, yet no change. But you see, God doesn’t fellowship with a man who has a mentality of poverty. There’s a mentality of prosperity and there’s a mentality of poverty. For instance, some people would use their clothes until those clothes are torn to tatters. How sad! It could be any personal belonging; they use it until it’s not good enough to be given to someone else. Such a mentality attracts poverty, and it has kept many in a despicable state for a long time. Whatever God blesses you with, no matter how small or big it is, when you use it, let it be good enough for someone else. When you give such things to others, be sure they’re in an excellent state to be used with dignity. That’s the way to live. There should never be anything that you own that you can’t give out. God wants you to always be a blessing to others who aren’t as blessed as you are. There’re things you haven’t used in a long while, yet you’re keeping them. That’s not a prosperity attitude. Do the Word; get into your closet and search out belongings you’ve piled up and probably wouldn’t even use for another one or two years. Give them out, and watch your life take an upward dive. PRAYER Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed me with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ! I have received of His fullness, grace heaped upon grace. I’m a blessing to those around me, and as a result, I grow bigger and stronger in prosperity, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. RHAPSODY OF REALITIES, MONDAY 6TH FEBRUARY 2017 Memorising Scriptures Is Good Spiritual Exercise This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success (Joshua 1:. Some Christians can memorise and quote many scriptures off by heart, which is commendable. Whereas, some others erroneously assume that memorising scriptures is no longer fashionable. With the introduction of different electronic Bibles and Bible software where scriptures can be located at the click or push of a button, many Christians have relegated the importance of memorising scriptures in personal Bible study. This ought not to be so. Learning to memorise scriptures is a very fundamental part of good Christian growth and development. Even though you have easy access to electronic Bible reference materials, you must exercise your mind to retain the Word of God. Your mind is the doorway to your spirit (2 Corinthians 4:4). The Word of God has to be in your consciousness to produce results in your life. When you have read your Bible, pick out certain verses and recite them by heart. This is the beginning of meditation, and the more you do this, the more the Word will get into your spirit. The same way you took time to learn and memorise things in school, you have to discipline your mind to retain scriptures. You can set a target for yourself for the rest of the year, to memorize at least one scripture per day, and measure your progress in it. You’d be amazed at the impact it’ll have on your life! PRAYER Dear Father, I thank you for the impact of yourWord on my spirit. As I meditate on the Word, and retain those priceless thoughts in my heart and consciousness, my profiting appears to all! I function always from a vantage point of victory, glory, success, and prosperity, where I reign and rule over circumstances, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. RHAPSODY OF REALITIES, THURSDAY 9TH FEBRUARY 2017 Square Up To Challenges My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations (James 1:2). There’re some Christians who, even though they’ve been born again for a long time, still love to be “babied.” When facing challenges, rather than squaring up to those challenges by putting their faith to work, they go seeking prayers and encouragement. They like to hear such words as, “Don’t worry; God is going to turn your worst into your best, and make a way where there seems to be no way.” But that’s not good enough. Don’t stay at the level where you’re always being pulled up; always looking for someone to encourage you, hoping that everything would work out for your good. Square up to the problem! The Bible says, “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world” (1 John 4:4). Romans 8:35-37 declares, “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or unclothedness, or peril, or sword?...Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” You’re more than a conqueror; you’re a victor in Christ Jesus; no circumstance or situation can overwhelm you, because you’re born to win, reign and rule over circumstances. It’s your heritage in Christ Jesus. So, stop asking God to make the challenges go away; He’s not going to make them go away, because they’re for your promotion. That’s why He says, “Count it all joy when you go through diverse tests.” You’re in God’s army; you can’t afford to be a sissy. Face challenges and win. He knows you’ll come out unscathed. He already declared, “When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee” (Isaiah 43:2). Don’t pray to God to protect you from the devil; you’re superior to the devil. The devil and all his demons are under your feet. So, square up; win, reign, and rule your world every day with the Word. PRAYER Dear Father, I count it all joy when tests and challenges come my way. I remain joyful irrespective of contrary situations and circumstances, for I’m assured that the story has already been told, the end determined, and my testimony of victory assured in the Word. Thank you, Lord, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. RHAPSODY OF REALITIES, SATURDAY 11TH FEBRUARY 2017 The Helper Is In You And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), to be with you forever—(John 14:16 AMP). As a child of God, it’s important to know that no one, but the Holy Spirit, can and will lead you into your destiny of greatness. Of course, the Lord can use people to bless you; but don’t make the mistake of thinking such people can only be found in the “palaces” or high places of life. Think about it: Where was Joseph when he met the man that introduced him to Pharaoh, and ultimately, his destiny in Egypt? He was in prison! The reason God sent him to the prison was because the man who was to introduce him to Pharaoh would be coming there too. His life was programmed to go that way. In the same way, God has programmed your life. Your life has been predetermined and prearranged by God. Yours is to follow the guidance and leading of the Holy Spirit. Wherever God has placed you, there’s greatness there for you. Don’t look in the wrong places for help. In Psalm 121:1-2, David said, “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.” David knew his help wasn’t from man. He looked to heaven. But you know what? Today, our help isn’t from above, because the Helper now lives in us! He’s the Holy Spirit. He left heaven and came to the earth, to be in us. Jesus was the Helper when He walked the earth, but prior to His ascension, He said, “And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper.” Your Helper—the Holy Spirit—is in you now. So, don’t look to the hills for help; don’t look to heaven for help, for the Helper already came from heaven, to live in you. As you maintain a rich fellowship with the Holy Spirit, He’ll guide your steps, and help you fulfil your destiny in Christ. PRAYER Dear Holy Spirit, I’m constantly mindful of your indwelling and abiding presence which has made me a victor and a master over circumstances. Fears, worries, darkness, confusion and uncertainty have no place in me. I take advantage of your presence, and bask in the glory and transformation that it brings, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. RHAPSODY OF REALITIES, SUNDAY 12TH FEBRUARY 2017 Believe In What He’s Done For You For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich (2 Corinthians 8:9). This verse of scripture is quite instructive; it says although Jesus was rich, He made Himself poor, so that you, through His poverty might be made rich. Someone may say, “Oh yes! He became poor for us spiritually”; no. Paul wasn’t talking about spiritual riches and spiritual poverty, because Jesus never became any less the Son of God in His physical body than He was in the bosom of the Father. When you study the entire chapter in context, you’d understand that He was talking about financial and material prosperity. For our sake, He laid down His reputation, His riches, His wealth; He laid down everything and identified Himself with us, and took our place. He became us. Everything He did was for your sake. He wasn’t poor, but He became poor for your sake. In the same way, you weren’t rich, but now through Him, you’ve been made rich, just as in Him you’ve been made righteous. Until you understand this revelation, you’ll never enter into your wealthy place in God. Your trust shouldn’t be in the government, the society or in the job that you do. Your trust shouldn’t be in any banking reform. Your trust has to be in the Word; in whom and what Christ has made you. He’s fulfilled His part. He said, “...Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God” (Hebrews 10:7). He already became poor so that you, through His poverty, might become rich. Now, you’re to step into what He’s done for you and made you. Believe in what He’s done for you, and take advantage of it. PRAYER Dear Father, I’m forever grateful for my glorious inheritance in Christ! As an heir of prosperity, I live to bless others and lift them out of the thraldom of lack through the power of your Spirit that’s at work in me.
