bro you'd better understand. academic excellence is not ranked by age of the university since there is always competition. oau has been ranked so many times as the no 1 but that can't be permanent.

I just weak for dis op and d post sef, wo I don't even know where to approach dis ur issue, how u go come here dey trumpet about oau like elephant? in fact no school in Nigeria good again sef, compared to years ago, u wan compare this oau with the good ol university of ife? all d graduates of this today's naija educational system na half baked when u r encouraged to cram and pour, rather than study, understand and apply what you know in a constructive way. Make I rest here.......@op no qualms o #freedom to express.

You are what makes the school. The school does not make you.

Graduating with a 3rd class from this school is probably what u did, that's why ur iq is so low u can't speak for ur esteem, without associating with the school.

U r such a tool

I can only agree when OAU comes out as the best University in Webometrics or its equivalent.
webometrics ranking is not constant . It changes...Few years ago, OAU was ranked the best by webometrics back to back for like 4 years. It changes all the time.

Some other person has rightly ,without my prompting labelled you appropriately"mumu".let your further comments in addition to proving your membership of GREAT IFE ,proves also that u are not a mumu and i proudly annouce to you i left ife with a 2nd class upper degree in law, to the glory of GOD .

Indeed! And u watched on by, like the mumu u r, who doesn't even know the worth of a 2nd class degree in the upper division is.

A second class degree holder, who can't express himself properly with correct sentence sequencing and constructions.
If u are proud to have graduated with that, I wonder what the 1st class holders would do.

U r so rétarded that it shows in ur posts and reflects ur intellect as a graduate.
It sickens me to know that u were one of the many that were regurgitated out of the learned profession into the streets.

sincerely my rum members, I don't expect the replies you ar giving this post.i f I were you, what I think I would do as a sensible fellow is to just cite my own points too why my institution is the best rather than being #faultfinders. other universities too have their drawbacks no matter how high ranked they are. I admit the facts that oau has a hindered academic calendar but I believe that will be tackled soon cause they are realising it. Also the hostel conditions too are not the way it should be; I know all will be tackled soon due to the new developments, notwithstanding OAU still holds its ground as a great uni in Nigeria

The university has alumni groups outside Nigeria, the foremost being the Great Ife Alumni Association of the United States, headquartered in Houston, Texas, which spearheaded the now-traditional biennial reunions of the alumni for the primary purpose of raising funds for the development of the alma mater.

Hope you are satisfied with the list.

Not at the least satisfied. Why?
1. Only Pastor Adeboye and Falana SAN are heavyweights that I can see in your long list of alumni. Sadly, they are not recent. Most first generation universities have LOTS of celebrated heavyweights who are not recent too.

2. I specifically requested for recent heavyweights because every now and then, schools must be consistent in churning out heavyweights of national and global reckoning. Who knows your Dr badero?

My submission? OAU is undoubtedly a good Nigerian school, but they lack a strong towering alumni like UI and UNN. FACT.

for instance, DR. BENNET OMALU, the Hero of the Hollywood film CONCUSSION starring WILL SMITH in 2015, is celebrated internationally for discovering CTE, a self inflicted brain disease amongst athletes in collision games. He is a clinical pathologist. He was decorated last year by the American Medical Association with their highest distinguished award. He is proudly UNN.

ARUNMA OTEH in 2015 became the Treasurer and Vice President of WORLD BANK. Her tenacity transparency and professionism displayed during her days as DG, SEC made her to be sought after. She is proudly UNN.

These two alone are recent heavyweights. Their achievements and status alone towers above most of the names you mentioned in IFE ALUMNI. Am sure UI has theirs too.

Thank you.

I'm not a fan of chest beating & I can tell u all that no nigerian university is worth it. you Don't invent, produce & manufacture whereas ur types in other civilized clime do dis things & dat is why it called university (universal ). someone invented Google etcetera

If you can chest beat & point any university in Nigeria that runs on independent electricity without the use of petrol or generating sets, I will start to take your universities seriously but for now they are mere breeders of "cram & pass " graduates only good at jostling for non existence jobs.

I know someone that developed an inverter in my state that runs without battery just solar panel mounted & then converted straight to AC power. So long as it is bright weather it powers sun or no bright sun. This guy is not an engineering graduate but from other field. He got his talent at tender age. He will soon turn celebrity so I told him. It powers everything including borehole pump.

Hmmm past glory? When I was in Aquinas college akure(ACA). Some people used to accused the of living on past glory despite the fact the we always annihilate schools both inside and outside of ondo state,I love to argue but at a time I get to know that it was just an act of jealousy.. I guessed same is happening to OAU but mind you the school have actually shrink due to unnecessary strike That must be admitted, let them work on their crying academic calendar but the school is now in turmoil.. But if u are talking abt OAU of 6yrs ago den you are right
