Day 17 In Jeddah: Yar’adua Loses Voice: Doctors Say Condition Very Dreadful by Nobody: 3:15pm On Dec 10, 2009
After 17 days in a hospital in Saudi Arabia, President Umar Yar’Adua has reportedly lost his voice and his condition dreadful.

Sources close to President Yar’Adua this morning confirmed to P.M.NEWS that the ailing President has lost his voice and that doctors are battling to rectify this.

According to sources, the President’s lungs were infected and doctors had to operate on them.

P.M.NEWS also gathered that doctors handling Yar’Adua have put off his return to Nigeria indefinitely after they discovered that his kidneys and pancreatic functions had diminished considerably.

A report published by Saharareporters revealed that the functioning of Yar’Adua’s kidneys has been the lowest since he was diagnosed with Churg Strauss disease in 2007 by a medical team in Germany.

Based on the report, Yar’Adua now faces the certain prospect of prolonged hospitalization.

The grim turn in Yar’Adua’s condition was also reflected in the statement issued by the Federal Executive Council yesterday after its weekly meeting that it is only the doctors that can determine when he will come back.

One of the ministers told Saharareporters that: “Everybody is engaged in a guessing game. We’re in the dark about how Mr. President is doing.”

Minister of Information, Dora Akunyili, who briefed journalists after yesterday’s meeting said only doctors treating President Yar’Adua can determine for sure if and when he would be able to return to Abuja.

President Yar’Adua’s current state of health, as scooped by P.M.News, is in contrast to claims yesterday by Akunyili that the president’s condition was improving.

“I can confirm to you that Mr. President is still in the Saudi Hospital, and he is responding to treatment,” declared the information minister, while responding to enquiries by journalists at the end of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, yesterday in Abuja.

There are also reports that the President may be moved to the US for further treatment.

His possible movement to US was given credence by the arrival of the President’s son-in-law, Isa Yuguda, Governor of Bauchi State in New York Tuesday.

P.M.NEWS gathered that Yuguda, who is married to Nafisat, President Yar’Adua’s daughter, is believed to be in US to prepare the ground for the arrival of the President.

There have been several calls by prominent Nigerians on President Yar’Adua to resign and take care of his health but he has not taken to this advice.

There are also those who are also calling on the vice president to take over the administration of the country in the light of the president’s illness. But lawyers argued that the vice president cannot act for the President because the President did not inform the National Assembly that he was going to Saudi Arabia for medical treatment.

Re: Day 17 In Jeddah: Yar’adua Loses Voice: Doctors Say Condition Very Dreadful by ayinba1(f): 4:37pm On Dec 10, 2009
I think what is shameful and dreadful is the decision by Mr YarAdua's family to deny him a graceful death surrounded by his loved ones. It is better in the eyes of Hajiya Turai for her husband to die in a foreign land than in his own home. What kind os warped thinking is that?

I am not saying that he is dying, but his silence over the past 3-4 weeks does not prove that he is getting better. The fact that you have money at your disposal does not mean that you should make ridiculous choices. I am very sure that his family know his prognosis. Why hide it?

Every soul must taste death eventually. I hope the family does the honorable thing. It will be a big shame for the president to die in a foreign land sick bed especially when they were forewarned.

Again, I don't know if he is dying but his silence speaks louder than Prof Dora.

Is President Yar'Adua no more a human being like every Nigeria or terrestrial ? Why are we so daft? Why are we trying to become the greatest fools that live on the surface of planet earth? If transplant is needed to get Mr president back to full health, the best body parts needed will be available. When a man suffers kidney failure and then heart failure,I wonder what remains of that person for us to pray for healing and recovery what Yar'Adua needs is a miracle. How I wish he is a Christian. Combined prayers of Pastor Chris and TB Joshua coupled with that of Reinhard Bonnke and Benny Himm will be applied.

The best prayers we can pray for Yar'Adua is for God to prevail and change his heart so that he can resign. This man is suffering sickness that do not have cure. They can only be managed and the burden of leading Nigeria is enough to derail the recovery or his total health.

As for me,I have quit calling for his resignation.Let him continue in power.I did on Nov 9th even before this sickness on my blog on a 10 point discourse on why the president should resign now.Probably He will be the first president to rule from coma.To help us out of this impasse they can arrange for Turai to become VP and then take over leadership in 2011.

I have instead got to focus my energy on Igbo presidency in 2015 provided Nigeria remains united till then.

Even if he doesnt die this is the End to Zoning lol. No one will ever do something like this again esp when assassinations in Nigeria are likely. Imagine if the president is assassinated - the VP wouldnt be able take over because hes from a different region. ridiculous on many levels

Well, the evil and corrupt band of robbers who are raping Nigeria to stupor have called for fasting, prayer and more fasting and prayer!! Either God is not hearing all these many prayers or he just looks and laughs at the stupidity of these "ignoramus" suegbe prayer warriors! This man has killed and lied himself into this position, yet he hasn't owned up and people without even 1 functioning brain cell are going to get leaner than their malnourished body already is? Well, that is their headache!

The "leaders" telling us this man is fine and will make a national broadcast via satellite or whatever; Nigerians who don't use their brain cells are waiting for the broadcast and binding and losing as we speak! We shall see. Hopefully, after 150 Million+ people "pray" and yet, God does not "answer", Nigeria would have seen another proof why it can't make progress by premising everything on vain and foolish prayer without action! In the meantime, I hope Yar'Liar is enjoying all the soccer games on TV and will not only declare open more universities in SA but will play squash on their new courts!
